capturing sound card and system audio at once while recording Hello! I've heard several audiogame recordings and the like where people record both the microphone and system audio at once. I have tried to do this as well. I use a program called virtual recorder for most of my audio recordings, but I don't use the option to record both sources, because I have done recordings with it from both the sound card and the system audio, and often times they fall out of sync a while later, so not good for something like audiogame recordings or demonstrating programs or whatever else that requires recording of computer and microphone at once.The solution? I use another program called sound tap, which was introduced to me by a friend. It's a good alternative, except a couple issues. 1, it sometimes makes certain audio distorted in the file, and 2, the audio stops recording immediately after sound stops coming through the system speakers. Sound tap relies on sound coming from the system, and so with certain programs using that isn't ideal.So, what do people use these days to record both sources?I also have the audio editor softwares Goldwave and Audacity I use for my audio editing stuff, and they have recording capabilities as well, but I don't use those all that much for recording things. Unfortunately as far as i've heard, that's something you'll have to change in the bios settings of the laptop, for which you will need sighted assistance. I do find it strange that the f keys are replaced by media control keys by default, but that has to be changed from the bios settings somewhere. The bios of every machine is different and I can't explore them either, so I can't give anymore help on that. unable to copy files to my virtual machine
unable to copy files to my virtual machine I have a windows 7 32 bit virtual machine running under vmware workstation version 15 on windows 10. The vm is stored on my 2 tb external hard drive. The problem I got with it, is whenever I try to copy files to the virtual machine by first navigating to it in the host computer, copy it to the clipboard, then go over to the vmware window and hit control g to go to the virtual machine, then move to a location in the vm to copy it, then hit paste. it simply gets stuck copying the file. This happens every time I try to copy things from the host to the vm. For instance at one point when I was copying something over to the vm, I got a vmware window saying copying file to virtual machine, and the progress bar was just stuck there at 12 percent. I'm not sure what is causing this. Files seem to copy well from the vm to the host, according to a test I did, copying a desktop short cut from the vm to the host somewhere and it copied over. I'm not really sure what's causing this. When the copying file window appears and it gets stuck, when I hit cancel, it's as if vmware itself hangs or something or the vm crashes somehow, because control g no longer brings me to the virtual machine, I can't power it normally down, and I have to shut down or restart the host pc to bring vmware backI have drag and drop and copy and paste enabled in the guest isolation thing so everything should work. Folder sharing is also enabled. The vm does work, although somehow it lags like crap, but after all it's an external hard drive because the space on my internal is just like 250 gb so it's limited. The hard drive itself is working fine. So I don't know, what could there be that causes vmware to act up when I try to copy things to my vm? I'll have to see about that, how I can do that properly.When I made it network specific at one point, then moved over to my school network one day, I had no working internet. I then went to cmd and typed ipconfig / all, only to realize the DNS server was set to that of my router. I changed it to automatic in control panel, and next day when I came to school the same thing happened causing me to manually change it again. I don't know why it kept changing the DNS on it's own even though the network was different, which eventually ended up in me having to delete the home network profile and recreate it, and then the automatic DNS changing stopped giving me stable school internet.I just went to windows 10 settings then network & internet then WLAN and then went to edit my home network profile and did it that way. Sure I could edit all other network profiles and tell the pc to get an IP and DNS automatically, and only put it to manual for my home network. And I set up a static IP on the PC also, the router doesn't support reserving IP addresses to certain devices apparently so yeah. Annoying thing about that is, because setting up a static IP involves configuring a DNS server, subnet mask and IP address and everything, if I go to a network that doesn't match to that configuration, such as my school wifi, i'm gonna need to toggle the static IP settings to automatic every time I go to school, and when I get back home, I have to switch back to the manual IP configuration so servers work properly. At least my forwards will be redirected to a static IP now, instead of it changing randomly when the PC is restarted thus screwing up all forwardings. All I had to do was open the ports on windows firewall, make sure the ports are forwarded in the router, and boom! I got my servers and stuff to work. And I don't even need UPNP! I have BT sync running on this machine and for some reason it puts UPNP entries in my router if UPNP is enabled. I then went to check the UPNP mappings in my router, then put one of the port mappings to canyouseeme.org, and boom!Success: I can see your service on **.***.***.*** on port (59711)Your ISP is not blocking port 59711If I create a virtual server, and let's take the teamtalk server as an example, and the teamtalk server is running. I put 10333 to the LAN and WAN port ranges because teamtalk just needs 1 port really, tell it both TCP and UDP, and then tell it the IP address of my computer, currently 192.168.100.17. When I go to a port testing site like canyouseeme.org and put 10333 to the port to test, I get an error, saying it was unable to see my service and the connection timed out.I tried the tracert command with the ip 8.8.8.8, but I just got something about the duration it took for data to go across the many hops, nothing about NAT or private / public IP addresses. Isn't the router that particular device?When I tried the DMZ thing some times I put my computer's internal IP in there, then again I am not fully aware of the workings of DMZ.I have a cellular based connection yes, and the house I live in doesn't have the equipment for stuff like ADSL. It's also cool because I can use the router anywhere, unlike an ADSL thingy where it's fixed to a single address and the ISP has to swap it. Back on topic though... Oh by the way, I just have an Huawei b715 4G router, idk if that's a router / modem combo and i'm using a single router with devices connected to it through WLAN.According to my ISP, their cellular based connections are indeed behind NAT by default, and so they are a private IP address. Through an add on to the data plan, which adds 2 euros per month to the monthly bill by the way, an user can have a public IP. They especially say on their site that if you play online games, use a some sort of security camera or some such the installation of a public IP on the service is recommended so the services work better.It's just interesting how I could host crazy party servers through crazy party's own UPNP thing before the central server was a thing, but now, without UPNP, nope. The confusing thing is that the router calls a port forward a virtual server instead of a port forward which confused me a bit at first and made me think there's no actual port forwarding support built in to the router, but it still seems to work through UPNP with games like crazy party that have an UPNP forwarding function and people could still connect to my servers.I know it's not the fault of the ISP, as I had to specifically put a "public" IP add on to my plan, which is adding 2 euros per month to my internet bill so yeah, that's the way my ISP works, it's a cellular connection after all. I am getting this also, but the file menus are pretty much inaccessible to me somehow so I can't change the view in the downloads folder. When I am in the downloads folder, and hit alt, NVDA says something like, show hidden items unavailable, translated from my language as I have a non english system. From there hitting arrows does nothing and enter doesn't give me any menu, and hitting space after alt gives me a similar menu to what one would get when pressing alt space on apps like notepad, and no file menus. When I had a old windows 7 laptop, hitting alt on any folder showed me the file menu, edit menu and a few others that could be switched around with left or right arrow but now, no menus at all. I am using Classic Shell, which has something called Classic Explorer, classic shell itself makes the start menu more like windows 7, and there's also something called classic explorer settings, so not sure if certain features of classic shell are screwing over the file menus. In other words, the file menus that the alt key are pretty much inaccessable to me now. If I hadn't learned the ctrl shift n keystroke to create new folders a few months ago, then i'd have no way of creating folders without sighted help. Idk how I could fix my explorer so the file menu would work correctly. When I had a static IP, even that didn't work for god knows what reason, and the public IP address add on is enabled on my ISP account and the APN profile is correctly set as instructed by my ISP.In the above teamtalk example, I put 10333 to the LAN / WAN port fields, then 192.168.100.17 to the LAN IP address which is that of my pc, the IPV 4 address taken from ipconfig. When everything is set to go, I hit OK, then apply and save the changes, but when I try connecting to the server from an external source, no go. Also teamtalk is allowed through the firewall so yeah. It's just odd how i've been able to host crazy party servers in the past through UPNP and now without UPNP I can't seem to get stuff to work. There's no specific heading called port forwarding, just virtual server under security settings on the config interface. Even though I told my router to forward the incoming traffic to my pc, for example, and then forward TCP and UDP ports 10333 for my own team talk server, it just doesn't wanna work. I am putting 10333 to the LAN and WAN port fields, selecting TCP / UDP, and when everything is complete I try to connect to it from my iPhone's cellular on the team talk app and my phone being out of that wifi, entering the IP and ports, it just says connecting to server and nothing else. And traffic for team talk is allowed on windows firewall. It's a Huawei B715 cellular router, but I own the data plan so I went and flicked on the public IP add on switch, and then went and changed the APN profile to internet4, and i've been able to host crazy party servers without a problem before the central server was a thing. Now when I try to forward ports manually it doesn't work and it's making me ultimately rage, but UPNP like that of crazy party is working like a charm so IDK WTF i'm doing wrong here. a couple of annoyances with my pc after a windows update So hmm, this is sort of odd, but when I was updating my pc yesterday it sprang up something weird, it's not the end of the world but still annoying.I yesterday upgraded to the Windows 10 May 2019 update (version 1903) with the windows 10 update assistant as windows update didn't register it. Everything was fine, except... For some reason, shortly after the upgrade, I noticed that for one, if I do something on my computer and NVDA goes on and on and on and on... Then suddenly I decide to do some volume control adjustments in the middle. The annoying thing here is, when I adjust system volume, whether it from the volume control thing on the system tray, with the fn comboes, the media control buttons on my keyboard or the volume adjustment wheel on my Logitech G533, NVDA simply says volume, literally translated from my own language what it says, and totally and completely interrupts any speech in memory. Before the update, it didn't do such interrupting whatsoever.After about a million google searches and angry grunts, I found out that this is due to a pop up that has been in existence since Windows 8 and that there is no way windows side to hide it. Surprised how NVDA hasn't been spamming me about it in the past... Though not sure if classic shell had something to do with it and it had to reconfigure with the new operating system and something screwed up hardcore. Maybe the pop up was just there in the top left of the screen every time I used volume controls or the play / pause / next / previous track keys but NVDA did not just react to it, wonder why is it reacting to it now... Even when I hold the media control buttons down NVDA goes v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-volume!I wonder if there's some way to fix that, so that NVDA wouldn't go rampant on volume controls or media controls like that, like it hasn't in the past. I thought about a dictionary entry, but you can't just tell NVDA to interrupt certain stuff... I wonder what caused this madness in the end? problem with masonasons.me and firefox I was thinking about where to post this for a bit, either general game discussion or off topic since that site is dedicated to games and the like, but, here goesI don't understand how this happened, but it seems that firefox is claiming masonasons.me to be a harmful site, which is a total and complete lie right there. I was just trying to download the latest version of Shooter, which I eventually got by cheating a bit and using internet explorer, which did not seem to have any sort of safety setting enabled since explorer did not go into red alert about it. Firefox however did not even give me a way to skip the warning and enter that site since hey, Mason's site is, for sure, a false positive. I'm guessing someone reported masonasons.me to some authorities or something and now certain browsers block it. What I was wondering is, since firefox is my primary browser, if there's a way to whitelist a site or mark it as an exception or something? Since now I can't use firefox to access it and I didn't find a safe browsing thingy in there in the settings or I didn't just look hard enough. Especially if you wanna record both pc input and your own voice. Streaming computer audio to somewhere like teamtalk or something like that, however, i'm not sure of that. My old computer had something called Stereo Mix, which captured the sound from my internal soundcard, it was basically a virtual microphone but it didn't work well with USB headsets so yeah. But with Virtual Recorder I can record stuff even with an USB headset connected. It has a virtual audio capture device thingy, which relies on something called Windows Wasapi, but am not sure of it's exact uses. But yeah, for recording with both your computer's sounds and your own voice, Virtual Recorder would be your best bet. I already did some game recordings with it, and it works like a charm. problem with installing the WebVisum firefox extension
problem with installing the WebVisum firefox extension I'm trying to install the WebVisum extension into my firefox, because it for whatever reason uninstalled itself when I last updated firefox or something. But when I try to install it, it says firefox blocked the installation because the extension is unverified. So I went into about:config and changed the xpinstall.signatures.required item to false, but it still won't install. Does this mean I can't install that extension anymore? And unfortunately, it was about 99% inaccessible. Now I have Microsoft Security Essentials, which is great and accessible, also, when I had f-secure installed and tried to install some games, like the lighttech games, it claimed that it was a threat and promptly got rid of the game as I installed it, which sucked, which of course meant that I was unable to play those games that my antivirus thought was a threat to my system, and they certainly are not. a little problem with my computer Well, i'm not sure what caused this, but I have a problem with deleting a certain folder in my computer. I tried deleting a bt sync folder with a boatload of sound effects and stuff in it, simply because it was getting way too big for my hard drive, and I decided I might put it to sync on my external 2 tb hard drive. But when I removed it from sync and deleted it, it didn't wanna properly delete itself. I hit shift del on the folder and it removed most of the files, but 2 folders remain in the folder, kind of odd, and those folders are both empty, but, when I try to delete those folders, it claims that the items don't exist, while they in fact! exist. And even deleting the entire folder claims that the folder does not even exist, which it clearly does. if I remember right it does it when I try to put it in the recycle bin, but when I go and do a shift del, it says nothing but the folders don't want to delete itself. Even deleting it with the del command on the command line doesn't work, and I can cd to it or open a command line window right there. This is kind of odd. Is there any way to fix such an issue? Is it a sign that my hard drive is becoming corrupt? If so, it's no surprise, as this computer is fucked up in a lot of ways, and I am getting another computer in a couple months. a question about iphones and stuff I am planning to purchase an iPhone SE in July or so, that is if it's arrived to the stores in my country. I have an important question. I have jailbroken my iPhone 4S first time around june or july in 2014, can't remember exactly, but i have unjailbroken it. Re: I have a somewhat annoying problem with my comp Yeah im also wondering how i can make it so i can use my finger print to log on to my Computer rather than with a password. From what i've heard, a fingerprint is much more secure than a password and logging on to the Computer is as easy as swiping my finger over the reader. That is why I went to the Bios to look up if i have to enable finger print identification.Someone who asked what Windows im running, its a 32 bit Windows 7. When you log off, all the applications currently open will close. I have a somewhat annoying problem with my comp Hello.Today I discovered that, when I locked my comp By clicking on lock, or By ctrl and l, after or before the standard logoff sound, it beeps.Does anyone know why it does that, does it have anything to do with me adding a bios administrator password while attempting to get my fingerprint scanner to work, another thing that i've been fiddling with like 3 months now and still it won't work. And drivers are installed and stuff.
