I won't be able to pay my studies on Berklee, even if I get scholarshipped 90% because it's still really expensive for me. About working, what can I work on? I do not have a degree yet and I'm studying music, so I don't really know where can I fit in for work.About migrating to Spain instead of USA and the different cultures, I don't know. I love USA because of their culture, their history, the jazz, their pop music and pretty much all that. And even though there's a Berklee conservatory on valencia and we share language, roots and all that stuff, and some of my family lives there, I'm not quite convinced. I'm not in a really good relationship with all the members of that family and I don't think I can stay too long on their homes. The ones which I get along perfectly are one of my uncles and my grandmother.My mom keeps insisting to go to sweeten or Canada, because of her friends, for her work, for her opportunities to work on a protected natural ecosystem and because they pay you for staying there as she said. planning to migrate to US, do you guys think it's possible? Greetings all.My name is Mike and I am from ecuador. I am currently studying the university in the capital of my country, and I am quite good at it, but our economy is no longer sustainable in here. My mom lost his job due to mean people, my dad barely has something to work on because he repairs ships and navigational devices, but no-one or almost no-one uses their ships anymore due to the lack of tourism in general.I was planning to migrate to the US because of all the freedoms it has, and because there is a university where I can keep studying my career. But is it hard to do so? What do I need? The main plan would be to migrate with my mama and my little sister, after that, my dad would come and live with us.Spain was also on my plans, I even have family there, but there's no actual way in which I can obtain the nationality unless I Mary a Spanish woman. There's another university as well, but I am quite panicked about this one, because Spanish people are totally a different culture of us and I don't think I would fit in.The situation of my country is a bit critical. My parents barely have jobs, they are taking care of a little girl as well, they don't want me to seize studying to start working and the presidential thing over here is quite scary. There are a lot of protests going on, the actual president that we have does not care the least bit about us Ecuadorians in general, and none of the candidates that are present in the second electoral round convince me at all. One is a partner of the socialism, but he's actually just a slave of Rafael Correa, the great thief of Latin America, and for media like rt, the voice of the poor and the hero of Latin America.The second is laso, he's kind of trying to represent the capitalism but he doesn't have it clear yet. Both guys and both proposals suck, at least for me, and I don't want to see my family suffering like that anymore. Our economy is quite bad, that my mom had to go to galapagos islands to work, leaving me alone over here. I'm quite confused and scared about this one as well and that's kind of my main reason to migrate.Do you think it's doable? I've done a bit of reports and some have gotten fixed, but there certainly are some errors here and there. There's a nasty error and I do not know if this happens only to me, but I can't add anything to the dock anymore. If I do so they get added to the damned thing, but if I restart the Mac they vanish. Is there a solution for this? I've added aliases to my desktop to open my most used apps. It's not the best solution and it kind of looks like windows, but at least it works.Thanks. Is it better to use headphones then?also, I like to listen to every music I find on Spotify, and my phone is a mess speaking about sound. And last, it kind of bothers me. As my headphones are in ear, my ear kind of sweats and makes the thing really sticky. I do clean my ears, do not get me wrong, it's just that thing that annoys me. I'm quite new to the OS still and learning, but it's a nice OS actually and it does work for the things I do.1. How can I use garage band to actually compose music? Or, are there better programs to do so? I'm a musician myself, and I've been doing so in windows, but I don't really know how to do it on my Mac and I wish I could do It, it has these great speakers and I really really want to use them for composing my music.2. How can I transform let's say... Word to PDF, EPUB to PDF and so on in my Mac?3. How can I use windows on my Mac and set it without visual help? It's not thet I want to feel more powerful by doing it without visual help, it's that I'm living alone and I do not have any sighted person nearby except my neighbors, but I don't really trust them that much. The unique thing that didn't really liked me too much about my previous computer was that its speakers were shit, seriously talking.They sounded even worse than what my phone does, and please keep in mind that my phone is a Samsung Galaxy j6+. That's enough saying. But that computer was quite responsive, it worked as my Game Center, my workshop, my little home studio and production center, my virtualization machine, my notebook, and it even resisted a very strong rain. Obviously it was inside my backpack, but trust me when I tell you guys that the backpack was a real mess. All my worksheets, braille worksheets turned into nothing and with their folder and everything, my headphones stopped existing, and only the computer survived. It was an acer, I do not remember the model right now but it had an intel core I5 8th gen, 12 Giggs of ram and 1 tb of hdd which I had to replace in about 5 or 6 years because it got freaking corrupted lol.Now I'm quite happy with my Mac, and believe it or not, this is the 13 inch one and its speakers are even better and stronger than the acer ones. Actually I do think that doing math in braille would be horrifying.I've done math in my computer, using the same symbols as my partners. Sure, I might sometimes use the symbols dictionary from NVDA to insert some stuff and I should ever use the screen reader in all punctuation mode, but it is actually doable. My grades usually oscillated on the nines and tens. I surely would have like a 7, an 8 or so, anyone's perfect. But I actually loved to do math in my pc, because my partners would be able to see my exercise as well and correct me if I was wrong or all that jazz. When I left the school, I felt like an enormous bag was leaving my back, it was quite nice because yeah, it's easy and more reliable than doing the things in braille, but it is quite hard, especially because I do not use the blind method when doing maths, I do so with the sighted method. That is, all the símbolos, all the parentheses, all that stuff like a sighted kid would do it. It actually would look like mathematic code for screen readers, but it is indeed doable.About braille itself, well, I love it and hate it the same way. I am a musician and I usually do my charts in braille. I'm not that rich to have an iPad everywhere, so I have my ruler or I don't know how you guys call the thing where you write stuff in braille, but not the typewriter, not the Perkins thing. I've read lots of books in braille, but I still prefer the tts. Actually when there's a word that I don't understand, I do pause the thing, and go search it in an online dictionary. I'd say what's happening to me now.My workflow is quite slow with my j6+, especially when writing messages to people. I mean, yeah, the google keyboard improved a freaking lot, but I do not know if it is my talkback or whatever, it keeps going slow, especially if I have 200 or more messages on a chat, lets say on WhatsApp.Also, the main reason, the compatibility. My phone keeps refusing to link with my Mac, and it is quite nasty, because I do use the phone to record instruments, ambiences, sounds, footsteps and all that jazz. But if they do not link, I was forced to use one drive, and the process of uploading stuff from my phone, then turning the damned Mac on, opening one drive and downloading something like 30 Gb or such, is quite a pain.About the stereo microphones on the iPhones, really? Oh my gosh. I mean, if the microphones on the iPhone are so freaking great, I do not imagine how does it feel when recording stereo with the thing. It makes me want it to buy it even more.And one last thing, this is about giving the phone to my mama. How do I delete all my stuff from the thing? I don't want to restore it, because it will fell down to android 8 and my mom hates that particular version, I don't know why. But android devices are not compatible at all with the thing are they? And should I buy myself an Iphone? Or an Ipad. I do not like to carry my mac everiwhere because I live in a developing countri and have been roved various times, that's why. But I herd that with an Iphone or an IPad you could do editing and recording operations as well with an external keyboard, and then via airdrop translate all the jazz to the mac. So, is it better to sell my old android... Actually old because it has one year with me and its compatibility with mac is sucking, to buy a new Iphone? Or should I stick with android.Don't get me wrong, I actually love android as it is, even though my terminal no longer updates and has lots of crappy applications on it. Also, I managed to press the more button on the playlist that I recently made, and it showed me that contextual menu, but there was no actual place to click on, just text. Actually the whole app does because in windows it was such a pain to alt tab and alt tab every now and then to add stuff to a playlist, and then if you wished to add more stuff and you didn't alt tabbed you should do then because it won't allow you.Actually sorry, I'm kind of new to the Mac and I just did the transition in a hurry because I needed a computer to keep studying and my old windows pc just died, but are there any tricks to make Spotify somewhat accessible? Or should I write them again and hope that they would make their stuff accessible for Mac users. I tried the contextual menu or the right click, but it's only a link you know and it won't do a thing. I'm trying to buy the thing a new adapter so I can pass all my info and pretty much everithing else from my hard drive, but as I told you guys before I have plenty of info on my old pc.Do you guys recommend me to keep sounds and all that fancy stuff on the hd and just use documents here? Or should I copy all the things down to the pc. I don't think I'm gonna copy music as I have spotify however, but I guess it'll come in handy xd. I've been using reaper on windows, I even purchased it for me but I am still learning and I do not have any idea at all of how does the thing work on mac. Re: I am sad. Hi.As nocturnus said, these errors are quite common. I've also had 3 pc's in my entire life which is sadly very short, and my first dell thing lasted 3 years. My acer 5, and this acer that I'm using to type this text has lasted 6 years. As you all might know, I'm replacing the thingy with a mac, because this poor baby is dying slowly but surely. Lol. The screen frames are completely down, I mean... They are sustained by tape, the battery is dead and I have to have the thing connected everytime to the electricity, the fan isn't working so well, I had to change the disc 2 times, and yeah pretty much everything else.
