Re: Bop it Beats

I do remember the extreme had some weerdness with the switch for spinitt, sinse if you span either too fast or not fast enough the switch would either not engage or engage at the wrong time, and also if you knocked the spinner while reaching for one of the other controls you'd obviously lose. This took a little getting used to. I do think though with this being a more complex boppit I'll have to give it a try.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=174067#p174067

Re: Bop it Beats

Quasar,Nice review! especially the part having to do with beats and measures. quite detailed I must say. once you start getting into 6 commands at once, things can get rather confusing and complicated. for those with Bop it beats, I wonder if you're experiencing the issues I'm having? first thing is, sometimes if you tilt the bop it a little bit, I believe it thinks you're flipping the device, cause you immediately lose the game. you must hold the unit quite straight to avoid this. another design flaw I found is, the device only allows one to spin the turn table at a certain speed. meaning to say, if you give it a hard spin, and your commands happened to contain for example, two scratch its in a row, you most likely won't be able to do it on beat, and sometimes not at all if you get real unlucky. you can sorta get around this by spinning the thing softly, but that's not always guaranteed. last issue is the flip it command. you have a bit of a delay f
rom the time you flip the device, to the time it actually registers the flip and switches song, so that can throw you off beat too if you don't time it properly. not sure if that last one is a glitch or an intentional decision made by devs. I'm wondering if anyone's found a way to deal with these issues? btw what are everyone's scores? let's have some friendly competition haha. mine are: classic: 218. dj: 139.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=174032#p174032

Re: Bop it Beats

I have a few more things to add after playing the game some more. Classic mode is very much in the vain of previous bop it games, as the maximum score is 250. You play through one set of songs, then the other pair. After that, you play through both pairs of songs in "lights only" mode, which as I mentioned in the first post plays exactly like Beatbop in other games. Once you complete both pairs of songs again, the game ends with a congratulations message.DJ mode is where the game really shows its difference. All four songs are in 4/4 time signature. Each set of commands, as far as I can tell, gives you the commands over two measures, then has you repeat them over the next two. In rookie mode, it starts out with giving you two commands, one on beat 1 of each measure. Next, you'll get commands on beats 1 and 3 of the first measure, and on beat one of the second. Lastly, it will add a fourth command on beat 3 of the second measure. In Expert mode, you will g
et more complex timing, including off-beat commands, and commands on back to back beats. For example, you could get something like Spin-it Scratch-it bop-it ... Bop it Reverse Repeat Go! You would need to perform the first three commands on the first three beats, pause a beat, then repeat the second three commands.Lights only mode plays like expert. The remix mode, as expected, simply randomly chooses one pair of songs, then lets you use all the different commands, and switch between songs by flipping the device. When the songs end, you get returned to the startup mode where you select a game.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=172521#p172521

Re: Bop it Beats

Quasar: Thank you very much for your description of the game. Sounds like a nice game. I don't like that there aren't any volume button on the device. I live a place where I don't want devices to shout out all the time, so I turn the volume down if possible. I wish there were more songs or that you could put your own songs on the device. I think 4 songs is very limited. I'm not sure if I'll buy the game yet, but I might try to import it to my country.Again, thank you for your nice review.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=172505#p172505

Re: Bop it Beats

sounds rather unique. I admit I've only got two of the boppit games. the boppit extreme, the one with the four handles and headphone jack, and what I believe was called the boppit blast, which has just two handles and three commands, but has a different beat and the light bop mode, (WHICH WOULD UNFORTUNATELY BE INACCESSIBLE FOR SOMEONE WHO COULDN'T SEE THE LIGHTS ON THE CONTROLS). It's a while sinse I bought one so I might give another a try, albeit my mum QUITE dispared sinse I managed to finish both games within about 48 hours of her buying them for me as presents, indeed she now rather commically refuses to ever buy me a boppit game again :d.i'M ACTUALLY LAD THAT IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY'VE GONE BACK TO MAKING THEM BASICALLY AS HAND HELD GAMES. tHERE WAS A POINT WITH THE BOPPIT DOWNLOAD WHEN THEY GOT A BIT CONVOLUTED IN TERMS OF DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT AND NET CONNECTIONS AND STUFF, NICE IF THEY'VE JUST GONE BACK TO SOMETHING SIMPLE WHIC
H FOR a TOY LIKE THIS IS WHAT YOU WANt. The flipping sounds rather fun actually. One odd thing I've always found with boppit is that while there are obviously various computerized versions, nothing quite beats the real controls and the dexterity required which is often a nice challenge to the fingers as well as the timing.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=172469#p172469

[Audiogames-reflector] Bop it Beats

2014-04-18 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — General Game Discussion: Quasar

Bop it Beats

Hi all,I just got the Bop it Beats game. This is the latest Bop It produced by Hasbro. Unlike previous games, this one actually has four different songs that it selects from and will occasionally switch between throughout the game. It looks somewhat like a record player, with a round "Bop It" button at one end of the device, and two round turntables taking up most of the surface area on both sides of the device. Around the outside of the bop it button is this unit's speakers. Pressing Bop it turns the game on. Spinning whichever turntable is facing upward changes between the five games. The games are Classic, Classic party, Dj, DJ Party, and Remix. For Classic and DJ, turning the other turntable, the one facing down, adjusts the difficulty level. Pressing and holding Bop it for a couple seconds announces the high scores. Unfortunately, there is no volume control or headphone jack on this device.Classic mode is your standard reaction game that is found in
most Bop it games. The possible commands are:Bop it: press the button on the end of the device. The next four commands all refer to whichever turntable is currently facing up, and work identically on both.Spin it: spin the turntable clockwise.Reverse: spin the turntable counterclockwise.Scratch it: quickly spin the turntable a small distance in one direction and then in the other direction.Flip it: turn the device over. This also changes song.Repeat: repeat whatever the last given command was.In DJ mode, you get a series of commands, and need to repeat them in order. You get one point for each command performed, and apparently, five bonus points for doing the commands in time to the music.Difficulty levels: There are three difficulty levels: Rookie, Expert, and Lights only. Initially, only rookie mode is unlocked in the classic game, but all three are unlocked in DJ mode. Lights only mode appears to be a bit of a misnomer, as
it actually plays more like the beatbop mode from previous games and appears to be completely accessible.Have any of you picked this game up and what do you think? Personally, I think this is a worthwhile addition to any Bop It fan's collection.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=172468#p172468
