Re: music production software?

Hi,There are indeed small NVDA scripts for Sonar, but I didnt try them yet myself so I cant say. if anyone would like to try them out, the link is here.I use Reaper with Reaaccess, and the only way to reduce the latency without getting audio-glitches is by using ASIO with a above-standards audio card. The new versions of Reaper come with a beta driver for WASAPI, introduced in Windows 7 and above, which has almost no latency at all, but is still kinda glitchy and likes to stop working every now and then, especially when resetting the audio device.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=156503#p156503

Re: music production software?

Well, as for programs that dont rely on Midi and allow you to mix loop samples already provided by the program, I have not managed to find one accessible. I do wish that fl Studio was accessible, but so far all of the music production programs I have found to be accessible all are Midi based: Sonar, Quick Windows Sequencer, Reaper, ETC.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=156272#p156272

Re: music production software?

I dont have the solution youre looking for, but I use Noteworthy Composer (judging by everyone else, though, you probably want to go with QWS if youre doing midi), Timidity (so I dont have to switch soundfonts all the time), the Bassmidi driver, Sound Tap, Wave Pad (an older version that is more accessible), and Audacity.None of those, though, is comparable to the mainstream music production software. Maybe some of Audacitys features and extensions get it kinda close, but its awfully heavy and is designed to incentivize the use of its least intuitively accessible components, so I keep my use of it to only the features Wave Pad lacks (Nyquist, bass boost, tone/noise generation (NCH Tone Generator was easier for those the last time I tried it, but its absurdly expensive), things like that).URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=156286#p156286<

Hi Cae. I was wondering about Timidity. I had never heard of it until you mentioned it, and I thought I would look at it. I was wondering, how does Timidity keep you from switching sound fonts?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=156293#p156293

Re: music production software?

Hi,There is no way, aside from using ASIO drivers.Go to asio4all.com and set that up with Reaper. Youll have to find more detailed instructions on your own since I dont really know much beyond that.Id also suggest looking into high-quality VST software synthesizers, because the built-in Roland one that comes with Windows sucks.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=156320#p156320

Re: music production software?

@Gamedude: Timidity is apparently old and has several flaws (I only recently ran into it). I mostly use it so I can set my Bassmidi driver to use just one Soundfont, and Timidity can use another, so I dont have to bother with changing settings on either. Its a kinda silly form of laziness on my part. URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=156344#p156344
