Hi there.So I have been thinking for a while now about releasing a public beta of bloodbath for you guys to try. This beta would be available for 7 days, to give people a good chance to evaluate the game and give me some suggestions as to how it can be better improved.I still have to figure out some of the logistics of this, getting a different server up for public use, making sure people can't abuse it, but if you guys want this to happen I'll do whatever I have to to make sure it does.

Hi.My question is this, why are there still games in the database that are either to old,or don't work on newer systems.These games have been here for years and as far as I know, nothings been done. Why is this. If you run a site, the idea is to keep the site up to date, is it not?Sure some games might run on xp and some people might still have xp but honestly I feel that quite a few of these games could go.Oh and on another toppic, is anything being done about eric the cleric? I bought the new update about 5 months ago now. If not, is there any way I can get my money back? I doubt it but I'm kind of pissed, that i gave money to a compony who promiced so much but yet gave so little.

This is a common question, but also an irrelevant one. All languages have their strengths and weaknesses, they also share certain similarities so the more you learn with one language the easier it gets to learn another. Both BGT and Python are good places to start, but whats really important is which one you feel most comfortable with.For reference, you can get BGT [here], and Python from [here].

Hi,yeah, it might matter alot, but we can't help you with so few information. The point where it is important which language to use starts when you know what kind of game it should be and how calculation-intensive the processes will be. E.g. i'm currently working on some turn-based strategy game and just tried implementing some quite intelligent AI, which needs to calculate over faculty 80 turns each time it moves, which takes nearly forever in BGT, but runs like Florence Joyner in C and, if multi-threaded, and a bit optimized, even in Python.Even if this might be a bit too much for you now, but the choice of language highly depends on the aim you're facing. For example, if you're just developing some "simple" side scrolling game or platformer or FPS, BGT will be your choice here, because it's much simpler for beginners to build your game straight from the scratch. If you aren't a beginner anymore or want to develope something mo
 re intelligent, something which needs to perform much more tasks so that it could possibly slow down the user while playing, consider using another language. At least it's of course like #2 said, it doesn't help if the language is fast and cool and straight-forward, if you aren't comfortable with the language and you don't think that your code is nice. my idea is making a game ambiented in the future.the game you will impersonate a human. In the hearth there are kron (aliens) and they hold an artifact. Hi,Depends on how complicated you want it to be and what you prefer. I, for example, would use a two dementional array of int8 or uint8 type (for minimum use of memory). Then, assign a number for each different square. For example 0 for dirt, 1 for hardwood, 2 for grass etc. Then I'd fill the map the way I want it. After that, I would add conditionals to my movement function to do different things depending on what number the current square is. For example play the appropriate step sound, or fall down or burn etc.

Try to find the Amaze on the Blastbay forums (I'd paste an example but I'm on my phone ATM). It uses a 2d array of ints, where one value is floor, and the other is wall. Whenever the player takes a step, it moves them if the target space is floor, but not if it is wall.This is more or less how a tile-based game will work, with varying additional rules depending on the game.

Reminds me of a video that went viral a few years back about a guy named Matt Bittner and his infamous "girl voice", you can watch the clip [here]. A year or so later he also posted another video detailing how he does it [here], which can also serve as a good base comparison of what his normal voice sounds like in contrast. Also, he's not the only one who does that sort of thing, another guy named Marcelito Pomoy actually sang a duet by himself switching between both the male/female voices on the fly, you can listen to him [here].

Anyone ever listened to Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, side-by-side with his portrayal of the Joker from the '90s Batman cartoon? Say no more.That said, I don't think even the most gifted voice artist can fool actual military-grade voice recognition algorithms. So I suppose both points are true. People can change their voices dramatically, as is done by voice actors on a regular basis. But nobody can change certain fundamental elements about their voice.(On a closer-to-home note, those of you who've beaten AHC and gotten to the credits may be surprised to hear about some characters where voice actors pull double-duty. I know I was, first time I heard the auditions.)

Thanks defender for the comments, I appreciate it.I don't plan on releasing any updates to this while the public beta is available unless something major comes up that needs immediate fixing, though me and the rest of my beta testers have been doing our best to iron out bugs so that hopefully won't even have to happen. Suggestions are still very much welcome however, and will be noted for future reference.

from what  i picked up from the stream archive that he posted, its some online fps type thing, but i don't know much about it. it's 3d, but a while ago when i was on the beta team it was very early, and it was pretty early made, so i can't tell you much as i don't know how much has changed or been added.

Getting the game transfered to Ivan's VPS is just one of those. I know this may seem like a cheap plug and all, but if you have the means and are willing and also want to see this game released the best it could be, any and all donations you could make could make all the difference between a small beta which looks more like tk / rs / up on steroids, and a fully flushed out game that is fun to play, and has a good amount of it's own content, and also has a good, fast and stable server to run on. Weather or not you donate could also change weather or not this game will be free or paid, since as a 6th form student with no current active income having to pay for my own food for the most part, weather or not you as a community can support me financhually will ultimately decide weather or not I'll have to ask money for the game. @mongu, I'll take a look when I'm done writing this post. @fredd, I had it like that at the beginning and per popular request inv resets were implimented to help fix a lot of the balancing issues that existed in earlier versions. In the end though it it ultimately comes down to what people want, and changing it at this stage is not a difficult thing to do at all.

trust me if i could i would donate. as someone who doesn't ha ve a job o a steddy source of income myself, i cannot provide any type of donations as i have wished to do for other projects as well. Trust me, i'm not just saying this not to donate to you. Also, when its released, trust me i've been checking this topic every hour to see if anything comes of this, but mainly cause i got nothing else to do atm. Titan conquest is kind of slowing down, there are no games to shoot and kill people with, and crazy party isn't really cutting it for me. Oh no, if you won't lose your inv when you die and when you log off this will be meh. I personally want a system like firefight, if you log off, you lose everything, if you are killed, you lose everything and the player who killed you can get your corpse and your items. This way no one can get overpowered. And yeah, no AFK as well!

I sorta get the whole lose your inv when you die, but not when you log off. If you lose your inv everytime you log off, the game will get somewhat old after a while. Maybe you could do a turn system, where after a week or so, you reboot the surver, and your inv is lost. That's a better route in my opinion.

but what if the server crashes? i kind of agree with the hole loose your invintory whenever you die but not when you log off. and here is why. just do the thing firefight used to do before they did that giant player nerf at the end. If you died you lost your stuff in a corpse, but if you log off you wouldh't loose anything.

This game is truly terrible. It is a mix of very early TK and RS. There is literally no original content. Horns, yeah seen it, same sounds too. Ultra bombs, let me guess, 50 coins to activate, whoa. Mines and time bombs, holy crap. Having no ammo system is also not a good thing. I really hope for your sake that this is no where near the final product because if it is, well then i don't honestly believe you will have players for very long at all. The server has horrible lag issues, the guns are unoriginal, and the game is buggy. Like seriously, how many people are going to put the Volkin minny gun in their games with the same fucking sound. And for that matter why is this generic gun always overpowered? There some horrible balancing issues. For example there is no point in using anything other than the Volkin because that is what everyone is using. Hi.Ok so first of all, I'm not sure what part of beta do you not understand. This is the first time we've been able to test the server with lots of people connected, of corse it broke.@jimmy69 and others.I think I made the fact it isn't completed quite clear multiple times in this topic. @defender, yeah I do see what you're saying now it's not quite so early in the morning and I've had my coughy and everything.I think one of the big problems with this community is that there is a mentality that getting access to a beta is like getting access to the latest and greatest toy you can play with as much as you like, but that isn't and shouldn't be how it works. The word beta does, of corse mean pre release guys, or at least it does in this context.The reason errors weren't being fixed so quicklhy is because I was asleep during most of them. Ivan has been around to restart the server and has generally been very helpful in that regard, but I still didn't fall asleep until quite late last night so when I slept, I slept hard.Now we have the runtime meter running so at least now if the server crashes, it should comeback up and log the error.

Charlie, i understand is the beta, but weapon ballancing must have been your primory consirn. Vulcan minigun is fucking overpowered, and why you can exit from the safe zone only from the north side? campers camp out on players, y'know. Why are safe zone's walls are so thick? make them 2 tiles, or eeven better, make safe zone a separate map!Now everything i want is vulcan minigun removed/it's stats decreased. You can't have fun with overpowered weapons that have a scatter of 10 tiles and could hit you eeven through those useless thick safe zone walls.The good point i really like about your game, the fights are fast! and it's a large benifit, cause while you fight rage doesn't eeven start to build, lmfao.Now i understand that maybe was sharp, but that's what it is. Good luck in developing this game. I believe when you will ballance it out it will be very worth to play. It's worth to play eeven now, but with overpowered vulcan minigun, fuck no.

The Vulcan minigun will be fixed just as soon as I am able to. I'll also be doing some security things during that time. I could make a sepperate map for the SZ if that would make things more fair. Uh, TY?That's, kind of allot of differences, you realize that right?What you just said is kinda like saying.  "Well yeah it's basically a chicken, like it's got wings and a beak and feathers and stuff.  Oh by the way it's an Eagle.  But hey, same thing pretty much...LOL anyway, here are some suggestions about how you could fix the SZ and vulcan thing most effectively.The idea about making the SZ a different map is a good one.  But along with that, how about spawning players within a few different sets of coordinates.  So for instance 1:1 to 50:50 as well as 90:30 to 120:105, ETC.  Just where ever there aren't obstructions to get snagged on.  Of course you will have to make sure that you get as many spots as possible and only use large spots, so that people can't camp those zones as easily.  I would also suggest not allowing other players to hear them spawn, as that will give them a heads up to where they are right away.Even better would be a system that always spawned you at random coordinates within a minimum safe distance from the closest player and free of any obstructions, or just make them immune from damage and unable to fire and give them either a text flag on their tracker, a unique hit sound for the first several seconds after spawning, so that they have some time to get ready.  But I realize that would take time to code.  Maybe in the future?As for the vulcan, I would suggest making it so that you can't move while it's deployed, and the draw sequence should be several seconds so that people have a warning first. In future, if you implement an ammunition system, even if it's just a fake reload with roundtime and no need to run around gathering or buying new ammo, you could make the vulcan's reload sequence particularly long as well, again without the ability to move while doing so.
