When you hear it, turn 90 degrees, left or right doesn't matter, and travel along that course until you don't hear the beeping any more. Then, turn back toward your destination, 10 degrees at a time. If you start hearing the beeping again, stop turning toward your destination and wait until the beeping stops.Hope that helps!

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

If you're using Jaws, this could be the issue. Jaws is having an interference with the home key and other keys in general. For this you have two alternatives.1. Press insert 3, and then press home, and don't release it until you reach the necessary speed to take off.2. Install the Eurofly  Scripts from their web-site, which will allow you to accelerate without any interference. This last option didn't seem to work for everyone though.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hi everybody,I'm really excited to start playing the game, but i seem to be having a bit of an issue. I hope it's solution is as effortless as I suspect it might be.So, I created my profile, and i'm sitting on the runway, trying to begin task 1, but I can't seem to take off. I'll take you through my exact process, just to make sure i'm not missing something simple.    1) Find frequency, enter it, and enter my transponder code2) Close door, buckle belt, fill up on fuel.3) Check rellevent aircraft information, listen to my task, and assign my destination4) Turn on both engines, extend flaps, deactivate brakes.5) Turn on audio navigation, check angle, fuel, etc. and get permission for take off. And, hence comes my difficulty. Everywhere i'm reading says that I need to press the home or end keys to adjust thrust, but when I do this, nothing happens. No matter what I do, I can't seem to
adjust my thrust whatsoever, and I can't take off.Any insight would be absolutely appreciated. I'm so ready to play this game, haha

But if the type you refer to is still used send us the engine and all the properties required in ctrl+enter options and I don't see any problem why not to implement it. By the way you can test it on your own. Just look into Aircrafts folder in Eurofly how it's structured. The engines in .wav format and the .air files with properties. Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hi guys,The major goal of Eurofly is extending geographical knowledge than thrill and suspense in actions like bombers fighting avoiding interceptors etc. so the main purpose is flying from A point  to B point. All the tasks are rather helping tool for people to get a hang of controls on how to drive various types of planes. It results into peculiar aspect for some people that the more tasks you're done with the easier they seem to be. The distances are wider and longer but it's logical that e.g. Cessna doesn't have autopilot unlike huger planes e.g. Boeings or Airbuses having the autopilots. So the impression of easier driving is more obvious. So I understand your needs to have thrilling exciting and dramatic actions air strikes etc. but the main purpose was geography. These things have been made just to spice things up for Eurofly not to be too tedious and uneventful flying intercontinental routes. That's I know the a
ttitude of main developer Stefan I'm in touch with. We'd better welcome new language localisations as there's Arabic language there by Riad and other Arab guys involved and under way in a few days to be released so if you want us giving you helping hand with new localisation feel free to respond here. You can be written in air history though! Tapin

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

If this game is still being developed, and the developers read these pages, I think it would be a good idea to notify the player when they get access to a new category of planes. I have access to cat 3 but have no clue when this happened. It's only just occurred to me that you don't have to do the task in the plane they give you at the start.I think the game's unbelievably engaging early on, but does get less and less so as you progress. I think a military version could give much more scope in terms of missions being more varied, and progressively more difficult as you move up the levels. You could have spy planes for recon, bombers for taking out bridges and power plants etc, fighters for intercepting enemy bombers, and helicopters for dropping troops in strategic positions behind enemy lines. Appreciate these things are easy to envisage and much harder to implement, but the biggest flaw with eurofly is its lack of variety, and the fact it gets easier rather
than harder.By the way, I noticed early on in the other eurofly thread, the devs were asking for native English rewrites of their text. I did the quick start and sent it to the email the guy posted. It was a few days ago, but have had no reply. Maybe he doesn't work on the project anymore, or the rewirite was pants. Anyway, it's there if you want it. I'm doing the task briefings too, but that's for my own satisfaction. If the devs want those when I'm done, and they read this, let me know.

Someone asked about assigning music to different countries... it's pretty easy to do. The tips and tricks page tells you how, but it basically involves going into the audio subfolder of eurofly, then opening the countries folder. There you'll find a load of .ogg audio tracks in numerical order starting with 00. You basically have to find out what the last numbered track is, think it's 49 before you add stuff, then name your audio track whatever you like, just make sure it starts with the next number, in this case 50. Then you need to edit the states.dat file. Open it with notepad, create a new line at the bottom and type *50. Then in the list of all the countries above, find the country you want your track to play over, and cut it then paste it on a new line below *50. Now whenever you enter that country, track 50 will play. You can convert mp3 to ogg really easily in audacity by simply opening an mp3 in audacity, then exporting it as ogg. But I'm sure mp
3s will play because loads of the other audio files are mp3.

Jeffb wrote:Why are there 2 eurofly topics?Because people have created two topics. First, the developers created a topic before the game got translated. Then the english official version got released, and then it was time to start a new topic from scratch, because there were a lot of negative posts regarding how to get started, because the game wasn't in english at the beginning. So this is basically the reason for there are two topics.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hi, terbo speeds up the plane, all the way up to 10,000 KM per hour if you want it to. It's for if you have a really long flight but don't have the time to sit around waiting to reach the destination. When you are in the air and you have to be at full power, then control T turns it on. You can then increase the speed up to 10,000, but obviously this does also take a lot more fuel. It's Control T to turn it off and the speed will move back to the normal top speed. Declan.

this may help, here is a list of all volume commands.engine volume is shift and home to turn them up and control plus home to turn them down.you can turn the volume of the music up and down with shift F12 for up and control F12 for down. F12 on it's own switches the music off.You can change the volume of other planes around you with shift page up for up and control page up for down. You can regulate the volume of other transmiters with shift plus page down for up and control plus page down for down.shift plus end turns the airport sound up and control end turns it down.hope that helped, Declan.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

ok, so there could be quite a few reasons why it's beeping. It could be because you have audio navigation on, which is a basic mode of navigation in cat 1 aircraft. It means you will hear a beeping where your destination is relative to the aircraft, for example if the destination is to the left you would hear it to the left side. This is helpful during turns but not for the entire flight, try alt N to turn it off. If that doesn't work, there are 2 more things. The game by default beeps when you are close to a capital city or an airport. If it is this, then do control C and control B to turn those off, that's if the audio navigation thing doesn't work.I also found how to stop the nose moving so much. Find the eurofly.ini file in the eurofly folder, it may take a bit of finding, and then where it says joystick change the 1 to a 0. That should fix it.Declan.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

hi, here is the best method for avoiding countries. Use the letter J to find what country is in front of you. If it's the one you have to avoid then use u and I to see what's on the left and right of you and move across until that country is in front instead of the one you need to avoid. Keep checking to the left and right to make sure the country you need to avoid isn't getting closer. When it moves right off or goes completely, you can move back into ligne with your destination. As for the person who asked for those hotkeys to turn down some volumes, sorry I forget what they are. Take a look at the hotkeys document on the website, or it may be in the helpful tips. There are quite a few volumes you can turn down to make evering just right for you. I think someone also asked about how to set your start point of a flight. You will notice in tasks you are always positioned at the correct airport, but in free flight you are in Bratislava. To start from a di
fferent point, find the airport in the list and simply press enter on it. This has to be whilst on the ground with everything in the plane off and doors closed.Hope this helps, Declan.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

I will shortly be doing a tutorial on everything, but until then when you here you are 2K away from the airport, do F1 and you will hear the landing clearance. Sometimes they may not give you clearance because the airport is too busy with other planes, in which case you can either move away and come back in or simply press F1 again which requests clearance again. If you just want to land then keep pressing till you get clearance, then flaps and gear down, nose to about -12 and you'll touchdown.

thx for the help so far,I now have the aircraft in the air, only problem I have now is navigation. I got to 2k away from the airport but I don't know how to ask for landing clearance, then before I knew it I was 3k then 4k and so on away from my destination. in task 1 is there any steering involved? or is it just a straight line?I tried to find info in the documents to eurofly but could not find it, if anyone could help me get of task 1 I would appreciate it, lol

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hello. Did anyone experience the weird behavior of eurofly in windows 10. I'm using windows 10 home, 64 bit. Eurofly starts normally. I begin a flight. Then, at some point, it keeps popping some error and runtime error windows. Problem is that those windows keep coming, it's not one window which comes, but many of them. Whenever I try to copy the text of the error, another window comes, nvda interrupts reading previous window. I'm unable to hear what is wrong, because those windows come very fast. It doesn't happen always, but last few days, I can't fly a flight without this error. After I press enter on ok button in several of those windows, eurofly simply closes.

to those who want to send in suggestions, yes that would be great. He doesn't always reply but hopefully he's reading them and will put them into future versions. I have said before this game is good, but it has a lot of potencial if the dev wanted to make it more realistic.

well I am ashamed to say I am stuck on task 1. lolI fuel up, buckle in, close door, turn off brakes, turn engines on, extend flaps then ask for runway clearance, this is where I get stuck.down arrow does nothing to angle the nose and the home key does not accelerate the plane even though the engines are running, so no idea what I have missed.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hi, firstly, I do know, from being on the English Eurofly mailing list, that the dev is going to soon release a big update with more features. I can't say exactly what they are, partly because I don't know them all and partly because I don't even know if all of them, many of which were my suggestions, will be implemented. I would encourage those of you who want updates to join the list as the dev does sometimes post on their and you will get beta's of upcoming versions to test. As for the lagging, it could be due to winds. Maybe the game just isn't good at estimating the flightimes for longer flights. It's happened to me before, but there again it could be a bug. I will send an email to the dev as he usually replies to me, but not always.I am always making new planes, just made a Dassault Falcon 7x and some more Cessna's which I will upload soon. All I can say right now is the game is still under development it seems that m
ore things will be added, as it is not completely realistic at all yet.I will also recorde a tutorial showing you how to do all the important things, for example taking off, landing, avoiding points and auto systems for those who are just getting started. Expect it in a couple of days.Declan.

does anyone have a short key command list on a note pad file they can upload for me?I got a feeling I could really get into this game as sims are my favourite style of game,  I just got 2 badges to get on nick adamsons tube sim to complete that 1,I wish all devs made games like nick to be honest, they are so well made and easy to pick up and are great fun, I have requested a flight sim and a truck driving sim from nick but because he is a busy guy I can't see it happening,   I even asked he could use the game mechanics for tube sim to extend the game to the rail network.  He kindly pointed me to jim kitchens truck sim and euro fly, but quite frankly they are not in the same league as his 2 games quality wise although I did enjoy jims truck game its just there was no depth at all.I just need to keep playing the lotto each week and if I win I will personally employ nick adamson to create audio games full time.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hi all.Well I am happy to do a tutorial on eurofly but to go through the entire task list took me about 4 months last time.If someone that is starting out or has the time would like to do it well they can do it I guess. For me I do have the time, well I may have the time but I need to know now so I can have the time so I can do it.It won't be for every task.Tasks people need help withtask 1-10.Tasks 11-20.Tasks 20-30tasks 25-40.tasks 60-70.In base terms. The first tasks are intro, take off and land.Next group of tasks have passengers.Next group cover a regular task. The next group cover avoiding countries. Then there are flying to points or through points.Thing is that most of the manual is still not translated.Another thing, while I have seen some updates to voice files of late, no news has actually come out in fact when I contacted the guys that make eurofly I didn't
get any responce. What I'd really like to know, is how as an inspecter I can now make user tasks and how they are processed. There are obvious advanced ways in how we can structure our task plan. But I never got into it.Worse with the profile thus completed the game is basically clocked bar the autogenerated tasks and this gets boring real quick.Even with the profile I have always ended up using turbo on all tasks I feel safe, I don't wait for hours and hours to complete a task at all.And as things go, eventually you just end up taking long tasks the music is nice but thats it.Saying that my strong point is fast action and strategy  I am not a simulations guy.I mean I will test and play them, but no I don't care to play long winded sims over maybe eurofly a little trucker or the train sims, even then once I am done and have the content done they all take a spot on the completed road. One thing I have noticed is t
hat eurofly will randomly maybe because of changes in sound card or something stop using sapi, then start using it again on its own or half use sapi. There is nothing wrong with it but simming for really long periods of time is not what I like.

Hmmm.I was looking round the game. The generated task are really crappy but I am assuming you are supposed to make your own missions. After the profile tasks are done how do you process user tasks. How do you make tasks actually. Also how do you make aircraft.I am interested in extras on the game, ie task completion messages to be customised for a task.I also like the idea of tasks that are not traditionally completed.Ie the one nasa did a few months ago where for tests on what things would be doing in a situation a fully loaded jet was slammed into the ground.Or say an evil task where you on purpose got shot down or simply had an objective to take off but not land due to some issue other than weather.Or any emergency where you had to land or had events go on.While I realise this is not the thrust of a purely geo map game, it seems to me that after completing the profile, there is almost nothing to do unless you delete
and start over.I am however not a flyer or gamer for no reason, I want a goal, a reason to continue playing. For me now I am at the top I have little to show for it bar a rank, the fun is gone. While it lasted it was a respectible sim.How do you make tasks where you are blocked from places. What about a situation where you are going through places where you are not welcome, and get shot down, somehow survive and get penelised for it.I do agree that this sim is quite simple though its good till you are done with the basics. Now I have played this basic one I want something a bit more advanced, not hard or ultra hard but medium advanced or even entertaining.Silvermoon you only need the main file and then will install it.It will update its own data from time to time but if you do download the rest, you only need the updated language packs and voices which should be files you run and they install. The only thing that may not be incl
uded is the transmitters file and that may be in the latest I don't know.

Hey guys, how on earth do you launch eurofly?I installed it, and I can see all the folders, but that's it.I clicked on them individually, but nowhere do I see an exe file that lets me launch the game. Thanks a lot.

What do I need or do not need to download?I go to the download center, and there's like a whole bunch of downloads.Do I have to get all the voices that are in English? Also, do I have to get the airport list thing?I just got the exe file, but is there anything else you guys recommend I get, or anything that's required? Thanks!!!

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hmmm.I guess I hoped for an actual end, something more then random generated tasks.I really enjoyed it while the game was going on.Your right its not a sim, and its a good muck round in a map type of thing.I am not a free flight kind of guy, I need a goal to play for.I am now at the top of the ladder. And my goals are over, I win.As a reward I get, generated tasks to fly for no real reason but to do them. While that is fine, I was hoping I'd get a reason to win, a task generater, or mission generator, a reason to continue playing. So now I have completed task 89 is this effectively the end of the game right now. After task 89 is there eventually an end of a game or do I just fly about. If a fly about is all this game is, then now I have played it, I am unsure what to do, my interest has gone in an instant.I am a stratogy, sport and sim gamer but there needs to be a goal to achieve and when you reach that goal,
I'd like a message, you win, now you can do whatever you want.I was really hoping that now I was at the top rank something cool will happen. On that note are the generated task endless or do they eventually end.If the generated tasks continue indefinately then I can assume that I have completed the usefull portion of the game.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Crashmaster,  don't expect an adventure type of game since this is a simulation one. More than that, it wasn't designed to be a flight simulator in the first place, it's an accessible atlas, serving for educational and orientation purposes.I really have no idea how you can compare Adventure at C with Eurofly, since they're completely different. But anyway, it seems the blind community in general is not grateful for what they get.We never had something like this before. Yes, we had military based flight simulators, but definitely we haven't a passenger based game before, and just remember how excited you were before when the game has been released.I don't know how others think, but when I see such attitude, from megaexcitement to sentences like "this game is bad" or even whorse, I'm seriously wondering why some developers put their effort, their precious time in making games for us.Be grateful for what y
ou have, I'm sure this is not the last flight simulator you'll see. And if you know what features are better or not, and that they're easy to implement, just create your own flight sim and amaze us.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hi all.Well just finnished eurofly upto task 89.Now I get autogenerated tasks, but is this it?I mean I will continue to play it but if this is it, ie I won't be going higher,I may just backup my profile so I won't have to play the game again and just remove it till I want a romp, it took me 6 months to clock which is respectible as far as this traveling round the place game goes. And for what it was worth at the time though it was lacking in some respects it was quite good. But if the last 3 tasks have been generating I get 6000k of flying round variouses places, and its the same thing, ie I am told I have a hard flight which it isn't really, and then it goes like that.Is this it?Because this game is just endless crap if it is.While I was happy to continue as it was for fun, the fact is I would really like to generate my tasks, select series, write missions for it, etc.But if it generates its own tasks where
you go here and there with no excitement at all, then sorry but this game is now crap and dumb because now I have used all the content it is now dull and boring and crappy. If I had known that this was what I would get I am not sure if I would have downloaded it in the first place.Sure I get a high rank but it really doesn't meant anything.I was thinking that the game would actually end.For those that have completed it is there an end.Ie if there are 5-10 hard flights then the same medium flights then easy flights and maybe then a few really dangerous flights or something with the eventual goal you can make your own flights in a menu or something cool I will continue playing.Well at least spending a lot of time playing but if not, I am going to call it quits.I'll keep the game round since its a good relaxer but if this is it, in some ways I really wish that the game had an end like adventure at c has.I'd like a goal, with
out one, I am playing generated crap for no reason, if I have won, then the game should say so so I can delete it and move on.I am slightly dissapointed.I play the game, I can fly passengers then bigger planes then bigger planes then do majorly long flights, but the end goal is that I can do generated flights.Sorry, I don't buy it.For the basic look round the world that is fine. But its a bit of a downer now, the game could be so much more. And now I have completed it I can see why lord london and others have issues with it.The basic game is fine for the first little while, but the main tasks are ended.
