@Dark thanks very much for your helpful suggestions.I'm looking forward to the release of blind drive as well, not long to go for that now .Do you know of any games where you collect gifts overtime, kinda like the princess system of crafting kingdom?

Re: Looking for a list of re-playable games for PC

@Saiyan, ah, sorry, nope, A few minutes of glory is definitely text based. If your looking for games with sounds though, as well as Dreamy train, you could also look into King of dragon pass and six ages on Ios. sounds, lots of great music, and some of the deepest gameplay I've seen, plus a hole bunch of different starting conditions, game modes and awards. Then on the other end of the scale, just as Beatstar is a great example of an arcade game with sound effects, how about Feer, which has auto generating missions and tasks to do, meaning that even if it is an arcade game, it's one that you can go back to time and again and still have slightly different experiences, aside from the two game world themes available. Oh, and the same devs are also bringing out a new game soon too. Another one that occurs to me in quite a different sense is new horrizons, since while there aren't unlockables as such, the game has a hole bunch of different ships, as well as a totally unique mission system and an entirely open world where you choose what you do, as well as some achievements, like buying your own moon or reaching elite title at 1025 kills, which will take you a while to learn. hth. That are probably others kicking around too, and likely more to be released soon, heck the youtube video I just watched on blind drive said the game will be having unlockabls, which sounds cool.

@Dark I thought A few minutes of glory had no sounds though? That's what puts me off it TBH, it's hard for me to get into a game that's just purely text based

Re: Looking for a list of re-playable games for PC

Never heard of cape. To be honest though, the amount of games with unlockables and replay value these days is actually pretty large, even if you exclude things like muds and multiplayer games with repeatable missions etc. Gamebooks like the Choice of games and hosted games titles where you can make different choices, not to mention games like a few minuts of glory with randomly set starting conditions, heck, even in a game as simple as beatstar, there is a tonne of soundpacks to unlock, minigames to buy and now even missions. Really, these days unlockables are just pa for the course, even in generic arcade games like Feer, which of course is a good thing. one game I've recently gone back to several times myself is Dreamy train, just because of the amount of fun stuff, different missions, different trains to unlock, different things to buy, heck even different events at different times of the year to play, so if you've not checked it out, that is one i'd recommend, though really these days unlockables and progressive achievements should just be part of any good game design.

well voyageur, cape and 4x galaxies may be ok though they are brouser games.www.playalterego.com, chooseyourstory and choiceofgames.com games while brouser based are good to.Any and all interactive fiction games you can play of course.Audio wize, gma tank commander, the legacy game, shades of doom though thats getting a bit more complex to handle these days but well.Entombed I guess. The kitchensinc games.A heroes call is also good.Possibly eurofly but really not sure about that one.If you are into flight sims you can play with keyboard but not done that so not sure.Spur sim, train sim, tube sim, stuff like that can be played offline. In fact when I want to relax which I plan to do at some point today I will play tube sim.

Re: Looking for a list of re-playable games for PC

one I would recommend might be Warsim. It's a kingdom simulator and it pretty much gets at least one new update a week. The game has you being the ruler of a kingdom and you form alliances and battle all sorts of enemies. The game is procedurally generated and I think at this point, there are over 100 million (that's right, I said 'million') possible races that can inhabit nearby kingdoms, each race offering new and interesting challenges. The game also has several modes of play such as timed, a wide range of difficulties, a long list of different kingdom types you can start with, and other things. Most of the unlockables are linked to each game itself such as things you unlock by interacting with the wider world or by  building and upgrading kingdom buildings. The game has sounds and music, though it is mostly text-based, though it is turn-based and most of your decisions are linked to displayed numbered choices on the screen. The free version is almost 6 years old but the pay version is pretty cheap and when you pay once, you have permanent access to any future updates.crazyparty is also a good one, especially for replay value and unlocks. It currently has 4 modes of single-player play that can be played offline and there is a ton to unlock including over 250 different mini-games, a ton of cards from the trading card battle mode, extra levels and board game stages, bots to fight for or against you in battle castle, and even whole new modes of play. It has a lot of sounds and music, though most of it is ripped directly from other games, such as the Mario, Kirby, and Zelda series as well as pokemon.

Re: Looking for a list of re-playable games for PC

You have to tipe everything but the commands aren't that complicated and it's much less to write than in case of a mud for example. As far as the sounds go you will be able to hear them just as before, they wont be removed. Playing using text the spire feels more like a choice based game than the constant tiping you encounter with muds. I would say give it a try, maybe you'll like it this way aswell.Edit: and there are some cool mods that work with text the spire, such as downfall, man it's really awesome playing as slime!

You don't need a controller to play slay the spire, just install text the spire and play from your keyboard. These days, it's the only game I replay constantly, I think I put over 500 hours on that lol. Seriously, it never gets boring because there are so many possibilities.

Re: Looking for a list of re-playable games for PC

audio strike has a few unlockables, the game requires you to complete the game a few times with diffrent difficulty level to eather fully upgrade your ship, or to unlock something. then there is breed memorial, I am not sure if the game has replayable volue, but you could experiment with diffrent monsters and collect their data. the komandoh series, especially komandoh 2 has a lot to upgrade and collect. then there are sighted game such as hades, Croixleur Sigma etc.
