Re: Problem with IPhone backups. If Apple stuff works the way I think it works, apps that are deleted from the app store will stay on your phone unless and until you delete the app or wipe the phone. Also, when you get a new phone, if you restore from iCloud, it won't restore apps that are no longer available from the app store. Thanks, that did work.the annoying thing is that I'll have to constantly switch between two folders whenever I want to do a backup, since that drive is currently full, and I'm currently using another drive to store the rest of my music at the moment. hopefully, I'll be getting a larger capacity external sometime soon, and that problem will be eliminated. I had to go through each track in ITunes before and tell ITunes where each was a time or two when I moved stuff around. Re: Problem with IPhone backups. As for ITunes, you must tell it where the album is. Part of the problem may be that ITunes does not know you moved it. As for your apps, make sure you download all of them through ITunes if you want them on your hard drive. I have a bit of a habbit of keeping apps store on my harddrive for a while. I am not to sure what this will do to all the old app that we have already downloaded when they go and remove them from the app store. Anyway, they made a few changes in between IOS 8 and IOS 9. One of those changes is that your device only downloads the part of the app that it can use. In short your IPhone does not get the whole app as it were. Of course ITunes knows this. So, the trick is to download the apps via ITunes when you can. I really would like to know what is causing the arror. Is it giving you a number? I find that that googleing the number that ITunes gives you might give you some idea on where the problem is. it may not mean that fixing it would be easy or anything, but a ny info would be helpfull. It for sure sounds like your sync is not finishing. Re: Problem with iPhone It's still a mystery what the problem was, but it eventually solved itself.I checked, data roaming was off and as far as I know has never been on.I tried restarting the phone when I first discovered the problem and it didn't help. More recently I did a factory reset of the phone's settings to try solving an unrelated problem, and that appeared to solved the cellular data problem, but didn't solve the problem I reset the settings to try and fix.That problem was that most incoming calls didn't cause the phone to ring, nor did they show up as a missed call, the only way I found out someone had called me was if they left a voice mail message. All of this while getting two out of five bars of cellular signal strength. The solution to this problem was for AT to send me a microcell for the phone to connect to while I was at home. This apartment building must interfere with cell phone signals because the microcell solved the incoming cal l ringing problem. When I turn off mobile data, I am able to use wi-fi connection without problems.I once used my phone without a sim card, so, here there is no mobile data and wi-fi connection worked also good. Problem with iPhone
Problem with iPhone I tried asking this question on AppleVis a couple of months ago and got no replies, so I'll try here.To save money and because most of the time I am within range of a wifi hotspot, I set my cellular plan to only 200 MB of data per month, and set the cellular data setting on my iPhone to off.I thought that turning off cellular data would restrict data to wifi connections, but it appears to turn off all access to data regardless of whether the phone is connected to wifi or not.So, am I misunderstanding something or are there other settings that affect access to data?
