They seem to have approached it from a whimsical athetics view rather than from accessibility, which is fairly evident from their GDC talk [here] where they blow off the idea of it even being possible. They should consider looking into filtered sonified depthmapping for spacial navigation and object isolation, or some of the design conventions from many of the audiogames here. It would be interesting if they could create a new character based on those systems that could be fully accessible. Re: Is overwatch playable? Much less so than other FPS games, due to highly complex environments and lots of verticality. It does have potential, there are good distinct audio cues for footsteps and special moves etc, and variation in character classes including one that doesn't involve jumping and has a wide spray gun that doesn't need as much accuracy... but that potential is currently unrealised.
