Re: JGT, the easy way to play Japanese games in English. well addons can be found either on jeffs nvda addon page or on the main nvda page you download the file then open it or just open it when you go to download it if you have problems with it being a zip try using a different browser like Firefox. which by the way is recommended for Nvda anyway. as for commands I remember it being a lot like jaws with insert being the nvda key like it is the jaws key. though you can have it as caps lock if you want to its been a very long time sense I used jaws when you get in to it I'm sure you'll like it its so customizable and its free you can even have it sound like jaws. that is on jefs nvda page as for manual, if you google nvda manual loads of results will come up. the first one will be fine. I'm not sure this would be the right place for questions though if you message me, manage to find a general nvda post or create one, send me a link to it I will be glad to help out. It would be practical if it could be downloaded to have a ofline version as well. Another way would be to include it into the download package of JGT and put both into a .Zip-archive. This way, you could have the addon and the manual at the same time. I had the Idea to make a download option in the future, so the translations for the games can be downloaded if you wish to play them offline. That would be amazing, and may be it will get implemented if there's enough time in the future for this Ian told me via Email. I'd just thought I let you know about this idea here as well and remember about this, since it would be a great addition. Please Note that this is just an Idea and still no implemented feature. I hope it will get in in a future version. This way, we could play the games for wich we downloaded the translations before without needing the server, so we could play even if the server has errors or is not reachable for whatever reasons. In the text games you seem to be able to press F6 and it cycles through 10 volume settings for the music.It goes louder, then when it gets to its loudest volume it plays a sound, then when you press it again it goes to the quietest volume.Alternatively you can open your volume mixer by finding the speakers icon in your system tray, right clicking, then choosing open volume mixer.Press tab until you get to volume for play.exe, then press down to lower its volume until it is at a comfortable level. I would almost reccommend spending everything on crystals, since they raise everyone's stats, downside is you need two of them at a time, and they're 60 points each. It's still more stats I believe than buying stats individually would get you, it just takes forever. The nice thing is that once you've beaten the game once, subsequent playthroughs are a piece of cake, this is incredibly satisfying. You can also transfer your save to ground war 2, which actually only comes into play much later in the game, but it's still helpful. The Japanese games fix addon only fixes the text games so you don't have to hold a modifier key when pressing enter, escape, or tab in them.It doesn't do anything for the midi synth load times.The text game patch should fix the midi problems, but it also crashed for me.Maybe it is because I'm on a 64 bit OS, or perhaps newer versions of the CoolSoft midi synth don't work with it.I'm not sure. Admittedly when I started the project my only intent was to do what instant translate did, since it was broken, but the project grew into a much better experience.At least for this specific scenario of playing Japanese games.@everyone, I've made some minor updates to the addon, they fix some complaints the auto translate clipboard feature would give while playing Brave of Cloudia, and try to reduce scenarios that would accidenta lly translate some text more than once in a row.So feel free to download again at your convenience. I guess I'm locked to shado rine full voice and the bokurano debouken trilogy on my primary computer. my secondary pc runs windows 8.1 so it should run the text games with no problem. for authenticity I might use fm soundfonts to make some of them sound like they are from classic japanese computers, like the pc88. In Brave of cloudia I was able to switch output to NVDA, so now it works even without japanese keyboard. Re: JGT, the easy way to play Japanese games in English. @Hrvoje, yep, Locale Emulator works great, but it only fixes the menus.To fix the text copied to the clipboard you have to enable the Japanese keyboard by pressing alt + shift after the game starts.That assumes you have already installed the Japanese keyboard.Here is an mp3 of me starting GroundWar1 with Locale Emulator and then enabling the Japanese keyboard with alt + shift.It will show you what the game should sound like when things are working properly. I've tried it with text games, and I've modified japanese profile with Fake system UI language and fake registry options checked, but it still displays garbage text after running the EXE with locale emulator. I just used JGT and it seems to translate stuff just fine without the japannese keyboard and the app locale emulator. Does that make it translate the text correctly like so the words aren't mixed up in the translation? I guess I don't understand the need for the extra stuff.
