Problem with this game is, the higher level you want, the more you have to grind... experience, unlike karen takes a really long time to get.

You can get it to 15 before you need to buy an upgrade fore the sword. When you do the sword can be leveled to 196.

Well I managed to get through the temple basement, well except for the boss, since I want to go grind for Karen to buy  few stat increases first. Just out of curiosity, what's the maximum level you can get the sword up to? So far I've gotten it to eight.

About those noises, those are teleport points. When you use one, it teleports you to a very specific point in the room, near to an exit. Experiment to see which one leads to areas you can get to. I don't remember exact points... sorry.

SPOILER  Ok, so I've made ot down to the third floor of the temple basement, but I'm not really sure how it works. I've collected all the keys for the first two floors, those being Fire, Ice, Earth, Wind, Water and Thunder so far as I can make it. But now I'm on the third floor and there don't really seem to be that many places to go. I found one room with a bunch of bubbly noises and then if you walked anywhere you'd get this sort of laser noise. Needless to say by now I'm more than a little stumped.

Subsequent to the last post I made it to what I suspect is the final or near final area of the game, the temple basement. Granted I'm not sure I've maxed out my stats and my sword is at level seven. Maybe that's why I got pretty much massacred by the first boss type creature I encountered LOL. I do sort of like the idea of finding the various elemental keys though. It helps that the music's pretty cool too.

Well I figured that particular puzzle out. That cave was pretty easy, so now I'm in the place where the seal is. I'm guessing that's where Rurai got killed originally so he could join us. There seem to be a lot of pits LOL.

Remember to use the field viewer with the f key to virtually browse the area. Pres enter to locate all the objects in the room, press escape once to go back to where you are on the map, press escape one more time to close the field viewer.

It's definitely mine. ANd the frustrating part is I'm so close, at least to being done with this particular part of it. But I can't seem to find the way to the middle switch. There's one area I keep getting to with a pit and a treasure chest right on the opposite edge and then there's nowhere else to go but you can hear other monsters nearby. Either that or I tend to end up in that big watery area.

I have gone east. I did find one room where I could hear switches but there didn't seem to be any way to reach them. There did seem to be one close by but when I got close it sounded like I was just walking in place. I've also just raised the sword to level 6. I'm playing on Easy. But I'm seriously beginning to hate this place. I also found a save point inside the forest with a couple of locked doors in the room with it.

its not really that hard, just careful when you are on the watery area.there are 3 switchs, 1 through the right, 1 on the left, and 1 on the mittle and all of them are on the same room,  but  to reach the switch, you have to find the way around the forest. find the left and right first. I hear you already press the left one, so to reach the right one, just back to the entrance, and find the exit to the east.there are 2 mini bosses you have to defeat to open the door to the mittle switch.what is your difficulty level?and don't forget to level up your sword on the temple HTH!

The merchant you talked to before in the lake district when you first got introduced to ren also starts selling things at a certain point, I can't remember exactly when. Can't help you with the crystal, unfortunately... don't really remember that part of the game all too well. lol

I also still can't seem to find that person selling the attack upgrade in the volcano village. I'd really like to have a bit more attack power before I tackle the real serious parts of the lake district. LOL. Although I have managed to get up to 90 HP so I don't get completely massacred LOL.

You have to go to the library, where you'll find a guy who talks about his students and one of them studying the magic that has to deal with moving between great distances. You should find said student in the hotel after that.

I'm not clear on the requirements if any for getting that spacetime warp deal. I know it's in the hotel in the lake city but nobody there seemed to say anything about it when I was there. I also can't seem to find the switch to light the right crystal on that slate in the Wind Forest. I lit the left one but for the life of me can't seem to find the second one.

I did a play through of Shadow Rine myself and completed the game. I get lost a couple times though. Regardless, the link to part 1 is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ix3IjYkJFbE=3744snote that part 2 has no microphone audio, because I messed up a little bit while recording and it didn't capture my voice. Speaking of play throughs, assault_freak, did you ever finish yours?

I'm still trying to figure out the Forest of Wind. I found one of the crystals, the left one I think but I can't seem to find the right one, or the switch to light it I should say.

There is one person in the ryukenzoku village who sells items for strengthening attack. I believe they've changed the name to power ruby.Ah so you're using cell data. I see. Yeah... without translation this game is definitely harder to play, especially if you don't speak the language. Alas, the translation seems to not be a priority for the developers right now.

My question is how the heck are you supposed to survive the Forest of Wind? I've managed to recruit Rurai but the enemies in there still massacre me. I have two Stamina Sites so my HP is at fifty, and I did manage to find one defense increase in that cave in the northwest, but if there are anymore I should find I'm not sure where they are. I've also been donating gold to the people in the volcano village but if there's a certain amount I should donate I'm not sure. All I know is I'm clearly not ready for the Forest of Wind.

Gotcha. In that case... here's a hint. Any time you get losted, head back to the temple and see if an event triggers. and use the translation addon as much as you can...
