Re: Tips for Riviera?

Let me now list the things in options. As stated in the previous post, the first option when enabled, saves your last formation. I believe this is off by default, but when its on, you can jump into vattle quickly using your last formation, or edit it if you like. You can take 3 people into vattle at a time, 2 in front, 1 in back.Next is item memory. You can go into battle with your previously chosen items, or change them before battle.I think that's off by default.Next option will put you on your last skill i believe. Not sure if on or off, so test and see.Next option deals with status icons and wait bars. The option under that toggles the enemy's skill window. Under that is the option to toggle on and off the enemy's max move cutscene. That's on by default.Next option toggles voices on and off. Under that is autosave for system data. Note that this does not autosave your game data, that you still need to do manually, however it saves things such as settings and whatever extras you've unkoclocked. I believe this is off by default. And that is the last option. To toggle them, use left or right. They do wrap, so keep that in mind.

Re: Tips for Riviera?

Ok ill list the options later. However, I need to clear something up first. When you take items with you into vattle, it is possible for everyone to use the same items, no matter how good they are with it. So then it is important for you to remember the order that you choose the items. In the options, you can set it so that the game remembers what formation and items you last used, and in options, formation memory is the first, while item memory is the second. The key to knowing who is who, is knowing what weapon they mastered. Since Ein is the only one who can master his special weapon, i often pick it first. That way,, i can press left on the weapon, hear the clash sound,, and know that Ein is my current character.. Also remember that everyone has different degrees of mastery with different items. For example, Fia is great with a rapier, and good with a staff. She can cook too, if only you skill up with a food item such as a banango. Again I don't remember what all everyonw can master, so please refer to a walkthrough for details. Just remember that everyone can use everything you bring, even if they don't know how, and thats the important thing..

@Aron: In earlier versions of ppsspp you realy could lower the music with the emulator itself. Cause most games specifically japan stuff didnt have such options.

You can\t lower a game\s music in an emulator. You need to lower it from the options menu which I don\t think you can do.

Re: Tips for Riviera?

Use nvda's audio ducking, nvda shift d. @Kenshira thanks a lot. Yes that would be great. Currently at chapter 2. I need to train more. The thing that confuses me is that whenever I go into a battle and select items I always get different ones. Once everyone got a bow and another time Lena got a bow, Ine got his sword and Fia got something.

Re: Tips for Riviera?

In the case of riviera, the game already does audio dumping whenever someone speaks.I also went back and checked, and indeed select is the quick menu while start brings up the map with some info about the current area. From what I can gather because I can't read my vita clearly right now, the first option lets you look at the items, entering that will allow you to see battle items and event items, so i guess its your inventory. Under that is your characters. Under that is mock battle which is unlocked in chapter 2. The next menu item lets you see your score. Under that is options. And that appears to be the last item. Later on, you will unlock the ability to set your formation in the quick menu also.I'll try to put the options menu items later if you like.

Re: Tips for Riviera?

That is correct. Whatever weapons and potions you pick up along the way you can bring with you, up to 4 items at a time. Once you have enough people, you will be able to rearrange your formation during the pre battle faze.

Re: Tips for Riviera?

Nope. Well actually my umd didn't do that, but the rom that I downloaded did. To fix it, press left and then x. I can't really use my umd since the drive is totally fucked. But modding this thing was easy anyway so. @Kenshira are the items that you can take with you before battling equipment or potions and that kinda stuff?

Re: Tips for Riviera?

In riviera, rather than moving step by step, you move room by room, much like a text or point and click adventure. That is known as move mode. While in a room, you can press the cross button to enter look mode, which pressing one of the 4 directions will cause you to examine an item or environment when one is available, but these interactions cost trigger points, which can be obtained by performing well in battle, or a chapter as a whole. Frequently, during the course of getting around, you will be presented with a variety of optional responses that may raise or lower the affection of one of the girls traveling with you. You can also raise a girl's affection by finishing a fight with her.Combat as a whole is scripted and occur at fixed points in the story as you make your way through the world. However, starting somewhere in chapter 2, you can do practice battles, during which your weapons and items do not degrade, unless you are hit by a status effect that causes it. These practice battles are helpful for levelimg a character's skill with each weapon you acquire that they can use. This is important to do, because that is how you increase their stats, since the game does not have a traditional leveling system. Comvat is turn-based, and you are only allowed to bring 4 items at a time with you into combat, which you do before the fight starts. Finishing a fight quickly  and with a level 3 or above speciql is the way to win the most trigger points. Finally, the more times a person uses a particular item, the more experience with that item they will gain, which is how they skill up to increase their stat and gain a new skill for that item. That is all, generally speaking. You can do some side quests in town as well, which happen between chapters, and it uses the same movement system. Its safe to say that 95 percent of the dialog is spoken, save for your dialog choices.

Re: Tips for Riviera?

In regards to item management, know that all weapons and consumables have durability values. If i remember correctly, regular weapons have 40, books and staves have 30, throwing items have 20, foods and potions have 3 to 5. All of those numbers represent the number of times they can be used before they vanish. Key items do not take up inventory space,, and special weapons such as Ein's sword do not break.Pressing r in the inventory will bring up additional info about the highlighted item, and I think start will organize them all in order, with special weapons first  then weqapons in order of the specialty of the people you meet. So, Ein is good with swords, Fia is good with rapiers, Lina is good with bows, Serene is good with sites, and Siera is good with staves. Then comes throwing items, then consumables. You can carry up to 16 items, and they are organized in two columns of 8 from top to bottom. The select button brings up the quick menu out of battle i believe, which you can do things like organize your party and quick-save your game, but i will need to check and get back with the items 8n order and get back. Not sure what it does in battle. Your party's formation is 3 in front, and 2 in back. The QuickTime events consist of 3 varieties, 1 is to enter a button combination or mash a particular button, a second asks you to press a button at the right time, and the third asks you to press buttons to visual rhythm.. some events are fixrd, while others have randomized buttons. For that, reger to a walkthrough on gamefaqs.a
