Re: bittorrent sync accessability?
Re: bittorrent sync accessability? Install it as a software service and it's much more usible.SyncThing seems to be geared towards those who don't do collaborating.Unless things have changed, which I doubt cause of security reasons, each device has a string which you share with all the devices you want to add to your little network, unlike BTSync, which uses a key that can easily be passed around.Someone else could probably explain it better, but if you're going to collaborate with someone, SyncThing probably isn't a good choice. For personal use, I guess it'll work, but I'm not sure if it can do what a lot of people have done in the past with dropbox folders. If I were to give you my device ID, then you would see all my folders, even though I haven't given you permission to access them.I could of course be wrong.I've only played with SyncThing briefly so I'm not really comfortable using it, at least, not for sharing folders with others. Re: bittorrent sync accessability? It is not quite yet completely accessible, but it's also quite easy to deal with. Re: bittorrent sync accessability?
Re: bittorrent sync accessability? In the latest version of sync, it actually uses a web browser to access stuff on the IP 127.0.0.1 or of course, localhost. If you use the web view, it should be fine. Re: bittorrent sync accessability?
Re: bittorrent sync accessability? Slightly off-topic, but an alternative that has worked tremendously well for me is Syncthing. It is open-source, its protocol is fully documented (BTSync doesn't document theirs despite requests to do so), and the interface is web-based, and is hence completely accessible.
