Re: clipping in reaper
Re: clipping in reaper perhaps VAC is faulty in your situation. does it work fine when you set your output to something else? Re: clipping in reaper
Re: clipping in reaper First of all, determine if your recording is cliped. A possible method: record anything, select the recorded item, press ctrl plus shift plus k, and check if your item peaks hit 0db. If it is the case, turn the gain volume of your mick down and try again. If you cannot turn it down at all, your only option is repositioning your mick. Depending on the soudñd source you are trying to record, you should adjust the distance from the mick to compensate the undesired extra volume. Each mick has its own limits.Hope this helps and excuse my english. Re: clipping in reaper
Re: clipping in reaper sorry, but I am totally at a losswhy do you need to use virtual audio cable, when your microphone is capable of working on its own.. you said it was a yety, correct? if i am not mistaken,, that mic has a volume knob you can adjust. Re: clipping in reaper
Re: clipping in reaper The thing you need to find out is if the actual mic input signal is clipping, or if the clipping occurs within REAPER after recording it. OSARA has some peak watcher capabilities which you can use to check the peak of your recorded signal. If that peak is too high, then REAPER can do something about it by turning the volume of the track down. If the input signal is already clipped, it is possible that the mic is faulty here. Re: clipping in reaper
Re: clipping in reaper You're going to have to be more specific.. what kind of mic? Are you running it through USB or an Audio Interface? If nothing else, pull your track gain down with alt and up/down arrow keys.
