helloin reply to slja mod, in effect, is over the hole game, it effects every map on the game... or that is what i understand it to be.If you play maps jl4 and jl5 you will notice differences in game stylethese maps are done by the method id use for creating a starwars map.Although to my knowledge there are no available campaigns at the moment, i have considered making a few myself but havent due to lack of interest.If people were interested i could make a few campaigns to do with defending castles and whatnot, following the medieval theme.Its just a matter of if people want them or not.Hope this answers your question a bit.Sincerely

Hi.Im pretty much a newbie when it comes to sound rts.What is the differences between a map and a mod? I thought a map only was the actual map, and not replacement for anything. Does the maps also include the units and buildings?I would really love a campaign. Are there made other campaigns for sound rts than the tutorial and the orc campaign? If yes, where do I get these? Do I get all which is made for sound rts by installing the crazy mod?

hello allthis idea for a mod grately interests me and i have experience in making maps and campaigns for soundrts.I think it is highly possible.Currently i am working on a modern map for soundrts which replaces your footman and stuff with tanks, missile launchers, etc.Therefore once i have completed and released that map id be morethan willing to offer my assistants in creating this idea and bringing it to reality.Off the top of my head i can think of a few ways to encorpirate certain aspects of starwars sutch as storm troopers. Jedi could be a little more difficult because of the ranks of jedi, aprentice knight master etc etc but its deffinately possible.So in conclusion to my rambling, if youre willing to wait a wekk or so, then sure, ill code this for you guys. Itd start out as one map and probably progress into a campaign at a later date if its agreeablelet me know your ideas and thoughtssincerelynathan

And its a very interesting question in my opinion. I am not sure if the structur of soundRTS would allow such a modification. You know Many of the Star wars scenarios take place in space. And i dont think soundrts can simulate this. But hey, if you got ideas and if we could frind some people wich are a little bit known in modification stuff of this soundRTS-engine, we could try it. Why not? There are allreadey a lot of available sounds and the only thing is that we would have to think about how to manage it. For example maybe we could make some planetary battles with dropships in orbit wich are sending troops in a specific amount of time. Yes, maybe we would have to call such different types of dropships and will pay for them with resources. Yeah, i think, ground battles could be possible. Anyone interested? To be honest, somehow i like this idea.HAHA, sorry for my sometimes bad bad english!

no actually the concept itself wouldnt be too hard, though I have no idea how Id do thislike have 2 sides, imperial and rebels, then have stormtroopers/rebel fighters, landspeeders, possibly x-wings or y-wings or TIEs for the imperials, jedi and sith, etc

Sure. I think a Star wars mod for SoundRTS could be done. As it happens I have a huge library of sound effects, music, and so on and the only thing is to think about what kind of mod we would want.For example, one possibility is one set in the rebellion era with rebel ground troops fighting Imperial storm troopers etc. I can easily see archers being replaced with snipers, foot soldiers being replaced with infantry, perhaps knights being replaced with Jedi, and so on. As I said it needs some things to be thought about, but I certainly think something like that can be done.If someone would want a more space based game I think that also could be done, but would require a bit more thought since the game was designed for ground based play than space based gaming. However, I do see ways my game, final Conflict, could be converted from a Star Trek to a Star Wars game.

Id like that allot too, I dont have many of the sounds my self, but Id be happy enough to assist with any mixing needed, if it even would be...As well as map and campaign creation.I think our best bet is to make it yes, the clone wars era, but not strictly so, if we need to borrow from other timelines and books that dont really stretch the bounds of the knone universe to make a better experience, with ATATs, imperial and scout walkers, storm and clone troupers, sith and jedi, wookys, gamorians, corellians, hutts, I forget what jango and boba fets people are called, etc. Repeating blaster rifles and pistols, light sabers, bow casters and thermal detonators, battle droids, super battle droids, droideckas, speeders and speeder bikes, x-wings, y-wings, tie fighters, gunboats, etc.Any combination of those would be good,a long with different races so we can pit factions from all over the timeline against eac
 h other, Wikipedia and associated wikis can help with specifics, I realize that Im talking about a large project but I think its worth it in the end, but well need a few people together on this.I also think that making ships with weapons wouldnt be too hard, obviously, we dont have space, and we do need to seperate ground, air, and space, but I think water is being worked on, so we could talk to sound mud about it, resources will also be tricky I think, well need to replace them, I mean, the Blitzkrieg mod manages it, but only ruffly, and, I do suppose that making ships only be able to hit other ships would be basically impossible, so we should probably go with seperit space and ground attack maps, which, you know, is fine by me, its allot to handle all at once anyway, and we do have campaigns if we want to make propper lead ups to ground combat.I wish this modding had better documentation and wasnt so h
 eavy on code so that we could get more people working on this, sure the rules and AI arent so hard to figure out, the sound file structure isnt so bad and map making and campaigns are time consuming but easy to pick up, even styles isnt all that bad, but the actual modding?
