spoilerUgh, anybody else having trouble with the sniper section? The part where you're playing as Abby trying to get a boat. You have to kill infected as well as avoid a sniper, which at this point I'm assuming is Tommy. I can get past the first wave of infected, but as soon as I'm able to deal with the shambler I get blowed up. I watched a sighted play through, and they seem to be able to take it out without being shot at, but I'm not really sure how they're doing it. I wish there was a sound for when you were behind cover rather than having to swipe up to know, it's seriously annoying.

Hey folks,Got ahold of a PS4 and am having a blast with this. Not sure how to deal with this encounter on Seattle Day 1, however. I guess you've just moved through a train station or something, you're being chased by lots of infected, and you can't just run from them or hide because Dina is being attacked. I assume I have to save her, but how? The story progression ping seems to guide you away from her, and even though you survive, I guess she doesn't and the story ends. In case this helps anyone, Liam had a bunch of issues with this part on his stream, and I never quite got how he passed it. I even have the slow-mo feature enabled so I can slow down the action, but nothing I do gets me past this part.Advice welcome. Thanks.

When you deal with infected just crouch down and sneak up behind them and press Triangle to grab one at a time.Do you meant L2 and R2? Hold L2 down to aim and R2 to shoot. Unless you change the button. I hope that helps.Thank you Sightless Kombat!!I lost count how many times I die. Lol!!!

Hello.I am having some issues at the beginning of the game, I think I get attacked by an infected or something, but I have no idea why I can't shoot it. It says press l1 and r1 to shoot, I do it, but I think I miss the target or something, because that thing is killing me all the time. Should I run as well or there's something else I am missing?

So I'm still having problems with my navigational aid. It just stopped working. It plays the error sound and that's it. I even tried restarting my chapter to set it back to when it was available, and is still gone. Anybody have an ideas on how to fix this aside from reinstalling?

I noticed there were times when the navigation would cut out, and I had to wait a few seconds for it to pick back up, or just move a bit. I wasn't getting anything when crossing the bridges though, save for a moment when I was crossing one of the longer ones or something. Not really sure why it happened. I'll try walking around the hospital for a bit.

@129:spoilerI passed through all of it. I don't have any vision. But essentially, things are kind of hard to hear on the bridge in that area because of all the wind and stuff. But as for the hospital, I'm not sure I know what you're referring to. I had navigation all the way through in that part. I think there was a slight instant when navigation cut out, not sure if it's there at the hospital, but all you have to do is walk a bit forward to continue the story. Also, sometimes wandering about aimlessly can eventually bring back the navigation.End spoiler

spoilerAfter you reach the sky bridges, does anybody know how you're suppose to get past everything? My navigation cuts out. I can't even navigate to items or enemies using the last scanned feature. I'm at the hospital now, but only because I had sighted assistance. You're suppose to find medical supplies now or something, but put it down to see if anybody had advice for this section of the game. There was a time or two when the game gave me some navigational aid, but it was only once when crossing a bridge. Otherwise it just makes the error sound. I saw someone said they completed the game without any assistance, but can only imagine they had some visual acuity or something.

121SPOILERI'm sorry you got frustrated. But it feels satisfying completing all of the game without any help. And it's not a fighting game. Nothing against those, but usually those are easier to figure out with just sound. And I say tame because nobody actually died. The final fight turned out to be a nearly one-sided brawl. I almost expected an all-out gun fight, or another one of those big boss levels. lol I'm glad it wasn't though if I'm being honest. Sadly that's not even the worse situation you're put in with items and hords. I'll talk more about it below.spoilerThere's a part in the game when you're playing as Abby and you have to fend off a bunch of runners, clickers, and a shambler. You're not given any direction as to where to go other than to track items which leads into a building that makes it a little easier, but fending them off isn't even the worse part. The worse part is once you've killed the runners, clickers, and shambler, you've then gotta make your way back to the building using only the sound of an NPC's voice while more infected pour in. Needless to say, it's not a very fun encounter.

Don't know about people who are continuing to stream beyond day 1, but I think Brandon aka superblindman is going to be doing it.Minor gripe. After playing through the game some more and looking at walkthroughs, I really wish the item scanning system allowed you to target more specific items. Please don't be mistaken.. I'm loving the game so far, I just wish the way for us to get items was implemented differently and less randomized. Right now you hve to scan everything at once and the game will just track to the nearest item and you have to kinda try and face the direction of other items if you want to pick them up which isn't the easiest thing to do all the time. Also, having to scan for items while trying to dodge infected is risky since you have to just stand there and wait for the scan to finish. Noticing this in the more frantic encounters like the hord while playing as Abby. There are items that I just can't seem to get to in time. But like I said, minor gripe. I'm loving the game very much otherwise.

Working my way through slowly because I'm trying to take on other projects as well. Anyonehave a more elegant way of getting through the melee section of the hord encounter? Got all the way to Joel and Tommy,but getting through the rest of that encounter wasmore luck. lol I know there are weapons around, but never seem to have time to scan for or pick them up, and it's too enclosed of a space to pick of enemies with shots. Just curious to know how other people played that part as I'm already past it.

SPOILERDid anybody else have trouble fighting that bloater before you find abby? I tried everything. I eventually beat it by throwing two molotovs and shooting it with two explosive arrows. I tried using trap mines, but it didn't seem to work very well.

I'm genuinely proud to be able to say this, as even though I thought this day might happen, I didn't necessarily think it would be this soon.@104APOILERThat big thing you're fighting?  It's called the Rat King.  Personally, after numerous tries and being in a similar situation to you, I had to replay the subsection of the chapter leading up to it in order to be better prepared, not use as much ammo etc.  Even after doing that it took me multiple tries, running away and shooting it/throwing what I could at it.  It eventually came down to my double barrell shotgun and about 3 or 4 normal bullets as well as a couple of incendiary shells that I used first.  Once you get past this you'll feel so satisfied.  I wish you the best of luck.ENDSPOILER

Chapter select in this kind of game is interesting. Sure it's not an RPG, but you could still have differing amounts of ammo, different upgrades crafted, different skills unlocked etc.FYI to the person who mentioned the headphones, the audio quality on some controllers is awful. My first controller had a bad USB socket so it wouldn't charge correctly but the headphone jack worked great. I replaced the controller with one which has a correctly sized USB socket, but the headphone jack yields absolutely zero bass. Hopefully you don't get one with that problem, because combat is definitely a lot easier with headphones as it gives you accurate perception of what's around you.

The game definitely is not necessarily open world. Reviewers have mentioned that as one of the cons of the game. There are big locations, yes, but it's not truly an open world game as you can't backtrack. Chapter selection doesn't count. Not a bad thing, but this game is definitely more linear than open world.

For those who are wishing to purchase this game and don't have a console or even a TV, you might be happy to know that you don't need a TV to play. You can have someone help you get the screen reader turned on and the updates for the console, but after that you won't need a TV to play. The controllers have headphone jacks, so you just need a comfortable  pair.

SPOILERSI have just reached the 'Seattle day one' chapter and completed the bank.I'm not so sure this is an open world section like people think it is. As far as I can tell this game is as linear as it gets, which is why this waypoint navigation system works. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't even know that sighted people would have the freedom to backtrack to previously explored areas?I'm enjoying myself, and I'm going to start streaming in a couple of days just as soon as I can get some sighted assistance with reconfiguring OBS for the task.I have died multiple times to most encounters, but that's just because I've been stubbornly refusing to turn on the settings which water down/ alter the behaviour of enemies.I'm hoping I can get through the game with enemies behaving as they normally would.

@Aron Leppik:I had a lot of trouble with this part as well.Big spoiler...If you have around 10 shots in your handgun, then just aim, don't go for the headshot it doesn't matter, and then empty all the shots in the damn crazy creatures body. I beat it in this way, and got surprised that the handgun could kill it that easily.

This is how all games and consoles should behave, so hopefully this sets an example and finally gets rid of these lame excuses manufacturers and developers may have when it comes to implementing accessibility. I've tried again and again and again, but I can't get passed this stage, it sucks because I wanted to experience the whole story but I think I'm going to give the ps4 back either this Wednesday or Friday.I've even put the agme on very light.There's a point when a game becomes frustrating and not fun anymore.I hold l1 to run, then press l3 to go in the right direction, tap square as fast as I can, then either I die or Dina dies. I get to the part where Ellie tells dina to keep running but that's as far as I've got.I think some navigation queues to say if a place is wide open or small would help. I've not searched for items but doubt that would help with this huge swarm of infected.If only ps4 allowed you to give your save files to someone else, i'm at the point where I'm willing to ask someone else to do it for me.I don't mind giving up, not really, the game's great and the accessibility is awesome, I just wish I got to shoot the bow.How do you guys get past this level, help!

I'm pretty sure I'll have to give up on the game and give the ps4 back to my cussin quicker than I thought.Spoilers.I'm at the part where there's a whole in the roof so Ellie and Dina climb it only to find what sounds like tuns of runners and a clicker, you also have to save Dina from being killed along iwth yourself.It's doable, I think, but damn is it hard; even with the dificulty set to very light.End of spoilers.

So basically I got the idea right but didn't realize that actively using the right stick even when playing blind allows for turning in smaller chunks and thus to better center items directly. Thanks a lot for this. Pretty much, the right stick controls the camera. For example, when you scan for enemies or items using Enhanced Listen Mode, pressing l3 will turn the camera towards the closest item or enemy. I personally don't use the right stick much, I only do when the scan for items detects lots of them in small areas. I find that moving towards the sound with your left stick as close to it as possible, then using the right stick to center it works well. This is good for interactables such as cards or things you have to read. When it comes to ammo or parts for example, simply turning Auto Pick-Up on and moving towards it will work. I also think that the scan range should be set to 30, especially if you don't want to miss anything.
