Re: Theta Poker Pro: Best iPhone Accessible Poker App Ever

Hey all, I dont know if theres still any interest in this app, but I should say that the developer has made some great improvements over the past few versions. The old instructions about having to hold and swipe and so on dont apply anymore. If you have even an occasional interest in poker, as I do, Id definitely get this.

Re: Theta Poker Pro: Best iPhone Accessible Poker App Ever

Hi,no matter what i do, I dont get the swipe after the doubletap. But I just turned voiceover off and swiped down, this worked with no problem at all. Shouldnt be necessary for an accessible app, but at least it works.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=173732#p173732

[Audiogames-reflector] Theta Poker Pro: Best iPhone Accessible Poker App Ever

Theta Poker Pro: Best iPhone Accessible Poker App Ever

This HoldEm poker app is completely accessible. It will announce the cards as they come out, the bets, blinds, etc. Also, the AI is super good; Ive been playing poker for about 10 years as an amateur, and I find easy mode pleasantly challenging. Seeing as the harder modes seem to be aimed at gamblers and professional players, I think thats about right. The only thing I find a little tricky is figuring out what position youre in, I dont really get what the placement of the various indicators means or how it relates to me. But I just naturally count anyway, so I didnt find this to be a problem. Also, there are all kinds of stats, that are fully accessible, and let you know how youre doing. Apparently in the last event I completed, I won 41% of the hands I was in, 67% of the showdowns I was in, took 36% of my hands to the flop, etc. So if I wanted to improve as a poker player, that tells me I need to
work on folding way more often, because the goal is only to be in 18 to 25 percent of the hands dealt. There are two versions, only the poker pro version is accessible, for reasons Im unsure about. But if you enjoy poker, its well worth the money! Not only is it fun, you will also naturally improve your game. Note that the app developer made some slightly unusual interface decisions for getting the game working with VoiceOver. However, all of the details are on the games website at:http://www.thetapoker.com/VoiceOver.htmlIm enjoying this more than I enjoy playing online with actual people. The computers never take 5 minutes to play, they dont do stupid things for no reason, and I feel like theyre just better enough than me that I have a chance to win against them, but Im learning something from playing them. I mean, the people in places lik
e All In Play never have interesting conversations anyway, so whats the difference? When I want to play with people, Ill get them around a table and well actually have fun. In the meantime, Ill pay the one-time cost for this app and work on my skills.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=173653#p173653

Re: Theta Poker Pro: Best iPhone Accessible Poker App Ever

Hi,I got the app, but have a few problems with it.First, I cant change screens. When I go to the middle of the table, doubletap and hold, the swiping doesnt work. It simply does nothing. This even means that I cant leave the event I started now, because I cant get out of it.Besides, the cards I get or which are put on the table are not spoken by voiceover. But I suppose this has to do with my settings, which I cant change because of the swipe not working.Any help would be great. Thanks and best regardsTikkiURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=173659#p173659

Re: Theta Poker Pro: Best iPhone Accessible Poker App Ever

Hi:After double tapping the middle of the table, you need to swipe directly down the middle of the screen. It is quite sensitive to if you go crooked even a little bit. Your swipe should start in the centre of the screen, and end directly above the home button. If you dont complete the swipe, or if you complete the swipe but didnt swipe exactly straight, it wont register. I find it easiest to do it with my right hand thumb, holding the phone in my fingers with the home button facing me, so that my thumb is over the middle of the screen. That way, assuming you are holding the phone straight, you will swipe straight.Edit: By that, I mean, with my fingers on the left of the phone, and the heel of my palm on the right, not with the home button in my palm.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=173673#p173673
