Re: Using a keyboard in Windows Sandbox
Re: Using a keyboard in Windows Sandbox If your laptop doesn't have a pause key, you can get out of input mode by activating the sticky keys shortcut, and then quitting sandbox through task manager. The virtual machine erases itself anyway, so there's no harm in doing that. Re: Using a keyboard in Windows Sandbox
Re: Using a keyboard in Windows Sandbox You could shut down the guest when you're done with it from alt+f4, though that will display an error when the guest closes because you're technically connected to it through Remote Desktop. Also, even though your laptop may not have a specific pause key, it may be mapped to a function key. If you don't have a manual for your laptop, try pressing function and random keys, you may find that the pause key is mapped to something. Re: Using a keyboard in Windows Sandbox
Re: Using a keyboard in Windows Sandbox Thank you for those commands. Windows Sandbox is a feature in the newest version of Windows 10 that allows you to run applications in a clean copy of Windows that's isolated from your primary system. The feature basically creates a clean copy of your Windows 10 system as a virtual machine. From what I've read, This virtual machine is erased when you close the Sandbox window and created from scratch when you decide to use it again. In order to use this feature, you need Windows 10 Pro. It is not available on Windows 10 Home. You also need to install it using the Windows Optional Features dialog. Press Windows+r and type "optionalfeatures" without the quotes. Check the Windows Sandbox checkbox in the list that appears and reboot your computer once the installation is complete. After that, you can launch Windows Sandbox like any other application. Re: Using a keyboard in Windows Sandbox
Re: Using a keyboard in Windows Sandbox When a window called input capture appears, press alt+space followed by x to maximize the window. Press alt+control+pause to return input to the host. Technically, keys are actually passed to the sandboxed OS even when the window is not maximized, but you need to maximize the window to passed modifier keys such as control and windows to the guest. Using a keyboard in Windows Sandbox
Using a keyboard in Windows Sandbox Hi all,I'd like to test the new Windows Sandbox feature. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to pass keyboard commands to the virtual Windows system. When I open Windows Sandbox, all I get is a window with a graphic and nothing else. Pressing control Windows Enter loads Narrator on my actual system, not the virtual one. How do I pass keyboard commands to the Sandbox?
