Alan, instead of you losing a point when the enemy captures one of your tiles, I have it so that the enemy just gains a point.  So neither you nor the enemy can ever lose points during the match.  In the end the winner is the one who made more tile captures.

Hey!Thanks, Approne, for your aproach, I simply hasn't tried something like that, trying to code numerical rules and that...Any puzzle seems to easy when you know the answer Just a question about the scores:As I understand, the game starts with a 0/0 score, and each card you convert makes you win a point, while you loose one when your enemy does. But playing your game I see that my score never goes back to 0, even if I have no more cards on the board, my score remains as 1. WHat am I missing?

Alan, letting people customize their cards and decks is a great idea!  I didn't go in that direction, and I wouldn't want to change things around on mine to have it work that way, so there are definitely going to be people who want to use your version.The simplest way to do the AI would to be to check each "next move" it can make.  Loop through each available spot on the grid, and have it place each card it has one at a time.  At the end of each simulated move, check what score it would have earned from that move.  Once it has finished this loop, it should have a list of all possible moves it can make, and how many points it will earn from each.  Then based on difficulty settings, you can have it choose the best move all the way down to a terrible move.  I hope that makes at least some sense, haha.  I'm not sure I'm explaining that in the best way.

hehehehe, I really cannot play on this league, Sir Approne, you have done all the game, plus text and descriptions in one day... My god, this guy will rule the world any day.Well, my game has nothing but the basic gameplay, so, for those interested, I will post the sourcecode, at least it could be useful for new programers, it's a easy but interesting challenge.My program uses .ini files to store the cards, so anyone will be able to create his own themed cards and decks. WHat I haven't tried yet is an implementation of any I.A for the enemy, any advice would be welcome... Anyways, I could release the basic game and let it open for anyone to make a stronger engine.Have a nice day!

I'm surprised Square Soft haven't released those minny games as some sort of collection.Not that we'd be able to play them.Another popular Minny game was Blitsball from FF XFinal Fantasy has quite a few minny games that unfortunately we can't play.I think 7 was the more popular one with what they called the Gold Saucer.Chocobo Racing is the only game that I know of that was actually released separately.

Sort of, but it's easy to get the audience jaded from lack of progress. ... And the developer, for that matter. I'd probably have small updates for some games by now, actually, if not for the confusion that has resulted from various not-entirely-but-let's-round-to hardware-related changes over the past 2 years. That, and I still need to migrate from Dropbox to some other hosting service (and download an FTP client onto this computer).A few (mostly voiceless) characters for Jeqo Prime, I'd go ahead and send out a DLE update if I wasn't annoyed at the lack of foreshadowing between the two major sections of the plot (not that I think I made it all that playable, since no one has complained about the hang glider or the prison minigames.  ), and I adde

Hi Cae.Well I'm a huge fan your games always have a fun vintage feel to them. Sengoku jidai and jla will always be my favorites.I don't know how to find a shrink that accepts medicade that's like finding a 2-dollar bottle of burban lol. Start coding a game or piece of software from scratch and work on it for as long as you can stand it. I threw together the engine used in Jeqo Prime in one day. It's... ah... rather imperfect, and I've tried numerous times to come up with a way to port it to something more accurate to the MK/SF experience, but apparently, anything that involves me hard-coding rectangles is my Kryptonite. (That and essays.)And the last time I wrote a program to easily port characters from that engine to the 3D engine in the JFIMA, it required Focalin to complete. (... in one day. I can't always work at will, but when I can, I can work fast.)So what I'm saying is... help me find a shrink who accepts medicade and can work with my lack-of-driving-ness, and there's a chance I'll start finishing things. At the moment I'm just working on ways to hopefully make it more fun to play.  My initial set of cards/tiles were a bit too conservative I think.  The attack strengths were between 1 and 4, and now I'm wondering if a wider range would make things more interesting.  Once I have it balanced a bit more, and have it tested for bugs, I'll post it here for you guys to try it.

Well said CAE Jones, haha.I put the triple triad game together using my own take on the cards.  It isn't done yet, but it is playable, at least for me.  Eventually the game will need a multiplayer system so people can play against each other, but for now there is just an AI.  Actually I need to dumb down the AI because it's frik'in hard to beat right now.I've coded the game while at my sister-in-law's, but my laptop battery is quite low.  Would have been cool to get something playable posted before I ran out of time.  Oh well.  I looked online for the game's actual rules, and boy oh boy I found some of the most useless "tutorials" ever made.  People don't seem to know how to explain anything, lol.  I have the normal capturing rule in place, as well as the Plus rule.

Man you know what I'd love? To have an accessible super Mario or something. I've always wanted to play games like SMB, Donkey Kong country, that sorta thing, awesome classics, but totally unplayable. well for the most part. I've played some levels through trial and error ahahaha. Only problem with that is, old school Mario sounds would need to be used, and we have a little thing called copyright. ugh. I won't lie though, having an exact accessible copy of these games would be so awesome. AProne would've been the perfect man for the job, since he can see the original level layouts. Something similar to that would be kinda cool though.
