Re: sharing Pc's internet with android?

HiChandu, if you are willing to spend a few bucks (translates into 800 or 1k inr) at least from your name I gather you are from india, buy a router. a router will broadcast your modems signels that is to say your internet connection to a certain range, and all your devices will have access to it. This is what pitermach was talking about. This is the kind of setup I have and it works quite well. Of course it wont work if you are using a mobile internet connection, but for those you could use dongles which have the hotspot feature.hth

Re: sharing Pc's internet with android?

There is a software called PDAnet which allows you to use your phones internet with your pC. Its tethering software and its payware. However, there is a demo mode which you can use but after a time, it goes off and you manually have to turn it on again.

Re: sharing Pc's internet with android?

Go to the network and sharing centre, (type “sharing” on the edit box of the start button, and the first result will be shown). After you’ve opened network and sharing centre, go to the Change adaptor settings menu. On the local area connection, click properties, and then press ctrl+tab to move to the sharing internet connection page. Make sure that “allow other users to connect through this computer is checked, and then click “share internet using Wireless connection. This should certainly work. The most difficult thing for me is sharing internet from wireless connection one, to wireless connection 2.

Re: sharing Pc's internet with android?

As camlorn said, youre absolutely going to need a wifi dongle to share your PCs connection with any mobile device. This having been said if youre connecting to the internet via an ethernet cable you should just consider getting a router. Theyre not all that expensive, you can still connect your PC via a wired connection through it and if you ever get more mobile devices, or get a laptop that doesnt have an ethernet port (many new ultrabooks and all new macbooks dont). Plus you will be able to go online on your phone even if the PC is off.

Re: sharing Pc's internet with android?

oh well, I supposed you have a wireless connection on your PC, sorry, anyway it can be helpful for some others. Try connecting your phone through a USB cable, and there might be any option to change to internet sharing, rather than opening it as a portable device. Also you could by a modem which has wireless netowrk, they are not expensive. I bought one for about 30 dollars or less than that.

Re: sharing Pc's internet with android?

If your PC doesnt do WiFi, you cant. You dont have to be connected via WiFi, but you must have a WiFi card or adapter of some sort.If you do, then look at ad-hoc networks. its been ridiculously lobng since Ive played with them, but theres plenty of tutorials and its built into Windows.

Re: sharing Pc's internet with android?

Yo, did you try internet sharing connection at the network sharing centre? I have used it and it worked using windows 7. I think you can do it very easily. Its not difficult as long as you do not have a wireless connection.
