Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Inguz + DRC input signal too short
Try recording another sweep. I'm not sure why, but I do find that drc calculates wrong results for approximately 10% of sweeps. Then an 'identical' sweep recorded a minute later will be fine. I now always preview my new filters using REW before packing the microphone away. Curt962;507339 Wrote: !!Warning: input signal too short for correct signal prewindowing, spurios spikes may be generated. The inguz measurement instructions used to recommend trimming the sweep wav file, but it is easy to trim too much. Leave at least five seconds of recorded silence before and after the sweep; longer wont hurt. Can you post audacity screenshots of your sweep recording? That's remarkably brazen... Ayre uses the digital portion of the same Oppo player in their DX-5 Blu Ray player, but at least they take it out of the case, and use their own power supply and DAC board. -- DCtoDaylight Audiophile wish list: Zero Distortion, Infinite Signal to Noise Ratio, and a Bandwidth from DC to Daylight DCtoDaylight's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7284 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74157 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

It would not surprise me that they accept the fee and the vendor's claims, since testing is actually work. -- Pat Farrell http://www.pfarrell.com/ ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

I'm not sure if his gear is DIY or just old. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Inguz + DRC input signal too short
Well...if I could manage to get the screenshots capturedI'd send them. In the interimsuffice to say they look quite normal. I made a few new sweeps this morning leaving 6-7 seconds of silence at the start/end of them.no help.I am STILL seeing the input signal too short Just for fun, I looked at the test convolution files on REW. I don't know exactly what those are...but they look like a normal freq response measurement. I don't know how to look at the actual filters that have been generated by DRC. When I listen to them, they sound like an impulse noise. I hope I can get to the bottom of this. It's driving me insane.
