Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] RC (Inguz etc.)
Riddo;599601 Wrote: Thanks Phil, I've done everything you suggested, and I get the sox flac in file types, BUT I cannot get silverlight to work in IE,FF or Safari. The plugin is installed, the program itself is installed, but nothing! The next step is to uninstall Silverlight (already done that) as well as the browsers and try again. Cheers, Graeme When you play a track, you should now see 2 instances of FLAC.exe, SOX.exe and InguzDSP.exe all running - if so, then Inguz is installed correctly. The Silverlight problem will prevent the Inguz settings page loading properly (from Home Menu - Extras). Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Anyone tried Gator mods for Beresford Caiman DAC?
Gazjam;599053 Wrote: I did the passive mod on mine (which has a similar effect to the Gator board - apart from -3db gain and losing the headphone facility - and its a very worthwhile improvement. More of everything and more hi end sounding IMHO. No comparisons of Gator board Vs Passive Mod over on AOS yet, but Stan B. himself says there is no difference sound quality wise...apart from what I mentioned earlier. Hope this helps. Gaz. Thanks Gaz, sounds promising. So the difference is pretty much in Gator's louder output (louder than the passive mod?) Is it louder on fixed output, or only on variable output? Ok, I'm 22 mins into koln concert pt1 and not a single click or pop. I think this has solved it (fw 85) - assuming of course I've correctly turned off FLACPCM decoding. Heard (more or less) a couple of movements from Mahler's 3rd (from hdtracks), and all seems fine so far (they used to exhibit the problem). Will try some more. Again, this is through external DAC. (Anyhow, thanks to Andy for looking into this so fast - and while one can discuss testing procedures and the likes forever - this gives me a impression that some at Logitech still care for the nutcase audiophile TP-crowd). -- bhaagensen bhaagensen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7418 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84133 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

In the Squeezebox server logs? I still can't get Silverlight working and your revised plugins won't play my high-res files, so I'm checking Google searches on the SL problem - it may be that it's my 64 bit OS that's the problem, although I had everything running OK before I bought a Touch and had to install a later version of the server software. While I'm saving my pennies for either a DEQX or a Mac based server with Amarra/Pure Music with EQ plugins, I'll keep trying to get this one to work, as when it did it sounded great. I appreciate your help with this Phil, and everybody else. Any more ideas please keep them coming as there must be plenty of us who would love to use Inguz. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Popping noises with Transporter firmware 81 and 85
I've tried every file that was giving me trouble before and I cannot reproduce the popping noises. I can't say I've ever received service like this from any company, anywhere. To identify an issue and have it addressed so quickly speaks volumes about the way this team was put together. I realize that much has changed since the days of Slim Devices, but I have to say it's been a great 2011. To have both the Transporter resurrected as the Transporter SE (even if it's temporary, it's nice that they are available) and have a code issue addressed so quickly and efficiently is more than I could have hoped for. Thanks very much Andy for finding a resolution.
