[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Occasional random pops(snaps)?
Just recently I have noticed that when listening to my stereo system (Touch), that I will her At an occasional audible pop or snap. It sounds like an electrical thing but it has not become a problem until recently. I have changed the power inputs on the power strip, checked for any appliances that kick on and off, done a complete reboot of the router, modem and computer etc. I think all that did help a bit but even though less frequent , it still happens. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Triode's USB 24/192 plug in - sound quality impressions
Having used TT3.0 for a long time, I do have experience w/ WinSCP and putty but I never got into the priorities thing as I had been using the analog outs on my modded SBT. I am only starting to use the digital outs including USB recently w/ the advent of the EDO. Taking the advice given, I began by remarking out entire lines in the tt file on the path user /bin . After rebooting, the display was on but unreponsive to input from i r. but the clicking was gone and the sound quality was spectacular. The tt3.0 wasn't working properly until I removed some more of the recently placed # marks. Eventually the status command on TT3.0 was indicating that all but the modification for priority were active. The sound quality was now extremely satisfying. I probably don't have an optimum setup from a software perspective but the two apps, EDO and TT3.0 are working together nicely and now I need to save a copy of the tt file to ensure the ability to reproduce these results in the event of problems plus I still have my other SBT, to be upgraded to a similar point. Thanks all I now believe thaat the addition of EDO and using an async usb dac are very cost effective additions after getting TT3.0 back up and running. I also put vollock back on and the daemon killer as well. Do you only hear this when changing from one song to another or just randomly within a song. garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95511 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Occasional random pops(snaps)?
I hear the occasional pop randomly, even when nothing is playing but the stereo system is on. I believe it may be an electrical interference coming from somewhere. It's a very rare occurance since I made some adjustments with the cords and after the rebooting procedure. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Occasional random pops(snaps)?
JFWIW I recently built a Vortexbox server with ASUS Xonar STX SC to feed my Hi-Fi directly via SPDIF (I have SqBx Touch elsewhere in the house). I've noticed a similar issue since I changed to the VBx server, that I haven't fully investigated, but it seems to be when a track ends or starts with a silent section (e.g. When the gaps on the original CD that I ripped had no silent space between tracks) or I cut a track off part way through. In my case I'm fairly sure it's hardware related BUT FWIW I'm also meaning to check the fade over setting (or whatever it's called) in LMS, as that may eliminate it Cheers, John Mycenius's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56466 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95511 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
