Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] MEASUREMENTS: Raspberry Pi 3 as USB Streamer (+ CRAAP config & TIDAL/MQA arrives)
Hi Archimago, my newest Pi is a Model 1 B+ so I guess I already have the CRAAP configuration. Thanks. Thanks Archimago. I'm usually somewhat to the left of you on the subjective-objective scale, but anyone putting out measurements gets a thumbs up from me! I hope you are well and keep up your writings in 2017, Cheers! Here are the first screenies about what software MQA defoding shows. No magic, just MidRes PCM ;) Funny what people attribute to MQA from reading the first Tidal listening reports... [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] MEASUREMENTS: Raspberry Pi 3 as USB Streamer (+ CRAAP config & TIDAL/MQA arrives)
Raspberry Pi 3 works great thru USB as a Squeezebox replacement with piCorePlayer of course... Some objective stuff... Some suggested underclocking config to "sound better" :-). Maybe some daring audiophile might want to do a blind test between my CRAAP config compare to... Oh... The microRendu? TIDA/MQA goes software decode as expected... And more CES 2017 hi-res audio nonsense. Hope everyone having a great start to 2017! But I doubt it'll be audible unsighted. Nevertheless, it is an inexpensive upgrade. If you have a choice, just use an asynchronous USB DAC from the Pi. Much better than any S/PDIF from an objective measurement perspective - again, not that I think in blind listening you're going to hear whatever jitter differences. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Display Off screensaver

If after start up of the Touch, I press play from the Touch IR remote so that I see this symbol: 21829 Then Display Off works fine after that with the phone app and web UI. No need to use the IR remote after that initial play. I've not found another way to solve the issue for any length of time.
