Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Squeezebox Touch with AudioQuest Jitterbug
Tried it - no change for better or worse. Left it in for as long as I was using the Touch. FWIW - I also heard no improvement from a linear PSU on the Touch in my system. ismarketing's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30585 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114513 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

I don't know if these add-on programs are worth what they cost either, but have any of you trashing them (and Stereophile's coverage of them) actually heard them? If there is one thing I've learned in this hobby, it's don't dismiss or believe anything until you hear it your self. Not trolling, just wondering. [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Anyone sell a longer DC cord?
I have a channel Islands audio PSU for my Touch, but the cord is too short for my current needs. Does anyone make a longer DC-to-DC cord? I checked Wellborne and Boulder, but they only offer cords with custom connections for their PSU's. I called CI Audio, and they can help. Any ideas? I'm looking for a 1-2m cable. Another vote for the Channel Islands Audio PSU. Everyone seems to have an opinion about the value of these things - which is likely why CIA has a 30 trial. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Anyone use the Squeezepak PSU?
Just got this last night. Connected with a Shunyata Research Diamondback AC cable, my SB3 sounds more open, with better placement of things in the soundstage, and far tighter bass. Is it night and day - no. Is it better and more relaxed sounding - absolutely. 1 nit about the Channel Islands Supply. The box itself is very well designed and built, but the DC power cable they provide is actually cheezier than the power cord that comes with the Sqeezebox. For the price - they could to better. -- ismarketing ismarketing's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30585 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73149 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] mini monitor dilemma
i have two SB Classics and run Silverline Minuets on one and PSB AlphaB's on the other. Both are small, efficient, and sound very natural. The PSB are a bit less expensive and have more bottom end extension. The Silverlines are much smaller, more refined in the midrange and on top, and can be bi-wired. I think Stereophile ranks the Minuets a class C and the Alpha's a class D. FWIW - I drive the Minuets with a Virtue 1 amp and the PSB's with a little Trends. Both combos sound really sweet. Good luck. -- ismarketing ismarketing's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30585 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67252 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

The rosewood finish of the Silverline Minuets is pretty dark. Not black of course, but very dark brown. Search for them on Audiogon. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Affordable PSU Upgrades for Classic
Thanks iPhone. I every system I own (3), improving power delivery through cords or a PS Audio power plant has made a significant difference in my enjoyment of the music. Side note - A new Virtue One Amp with their 130w PSU fed by a classic Synergistic Master Coupler - wow! If I can screw around with the sound of the SB classic for $20 or so and maybe improve it, that sounds like more fun than measuring to me. Again - any links to regulated power supplies I could try are appreciated. [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Affordable PSU Upgrades for Classic

Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Power supply DAC for my SB3 - recommendations?
I'm new to the SB, but the Dacmagic made a very nice improvement in the sound of my office Roku Soundbridge. Much more relaxed, better soundstage, and more natural sounding midrange. $400 in the US. So you guys think the Boulder Cable PSU or Channel Islands PSU's are wastes if you are using the analog outs on the SB?
