Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] transporter and bryston bda-1
muski;329013 Wrote: Interesting. I prefer the Transporter DAC over the one in my BP25DA -- found that the soundstage was noticeably wider. I recently upgraded to a BP26DA (with a beefier external power supply), but haven't had a chance to do any serious side-by-side listening. I thought about the Bryston BDA-1, but as it had no word clock sync support, I passed on it. I would love to see side-by-side jitter measurements of the Transporter and BDA-1 DACs. I also find the Transporter DAC to be breathtaking through a high-end headphone rig. The detail is incredible. Agreed. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Transporter sans preamp w/Endler Att.
It's been a few months for me with the Endlers. I compared them to the Luminous Audio Axiom Mono XLR passive pre (extensively) and preferred the Endlers. The Axiom preamp allowed for a better soundstage overall but the Endlers were a bit more forward and seemed a bit purer. We aren't talking huge differences here, but I could see how someone could swing either way. -- xand1x Linksys WRT54G -- Slim Devices Transporter (Black) -- First Watt F1 -- AKG K1000 xand1x's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14838 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48232 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] FW42, and revisiting some FW40 bugs
mikel51;302445 Wrote: hmmm. I updated to 7.1 for my ReadyNAS a few days ago and it installed FW 40 on my transporter. Then I switched back to running my transporter off my windows machine server and it loaded FW36 onto my transporter. Unfortunately, the transporter no longer output music. Then I went back to the ReadyNAS and FW40 and it worked. I waited a few days and put 7.1 - 19634 onto both the ReadyNAS and windoze servers, and this installed FW42 onto the transporter. All was good for a few days, but then the transporter started degausing several times/minute. I just reinstalled the supported new 7.01 release and this reinstalled FW37. Now I have the worst of both worlds: no music is coming out of my transporter and it is still degausing. Any suggestions? You need to reprogram Xilinx..restart your transporter and hold down 1 as its powering up then you'll be able to hear music again. -- xand1x Linksys WRT54G -- Slim Devices Transporter (Black) -- First Watt F1 -- AKG K1000 xand1x's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14838 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47315 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
