Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Nu Force amp and pre amp on the way
Hi David Well, I am not sure if the amp needs break in at all, maybe just my brain get used to it after some time. Currently I only listen to the sanders amp directly. So I don't use my old pre and power amp anymore. If I sell my ML Vantages today, I will right away order the sanders ESL speakers. http://www.sanderssoundsystems.com/index.php?option=com_contenttask=viewid=43Itemid=121 So wish me luck... ;-) Christian -- Schindler Schindler's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8461 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62326 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

Christian the speakers look really good and I am surpised at the efficiency rating. Good luck in selling your old ones and keep us posted on the set up. Your neighbours will need really good earplugs :) regards David Also I am going to listen to the Usher BE10s this weekend and will let you know the result -- David C David C's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9755 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62326 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

I use the same power amps. I like them with valve preamps. It gives the imaging a boost. It's a particularly interesting amp company and will certainly be fascinating to see where they take future iterations. It's a shame that the distributors in the UK are particularly poor at doing a demo. It seems it is a continual upgrade to get the match right. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Nu Force amp and pre amp on the way
Well, first of all my current setup is not as bad as I thought... The Sanders amp sounds different. Maybe a little sterile or aggressive, especially with classical music, with pop or rock it is really nice. I received a nice e-mail from Roger Sanders where he explained why it sounds so with the Martin Logan ESL speakers. He recommends using a DSP http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/DEQ2496.aspx I'm not sure if I could handle this DSP correctly. So I maybe may sell my Martin Logans Vangage and go for an ESL from him, Roger Sanders. Schindler;426166 Wrote: Did you ever tried to connect directly to the poweramps? FWIW : That's how I'm driving my Ref 8.5 v2 mono blocks for the moment, and I have to say it's been terribly disappointing so far, compared to what I did get from my Transporter when it was connected through the IA-7 v2. I first thought this was the blocks' fault, but we've made some very interesting tests with a couple of friends this week, comparing the 8.5 NuForce blocks with Flying Mole ones (not sure which ones), and using the TP either directly connected to the blocks or connected through a Rotel RC-06 pre. All tests have been done with Triangle Comète 202 (bookshelves) speakers. We all agreed the NuForce and FM blocks sounded quite similar in the low and medium frequencies, but also found the NuForce blocks did a better job than the FM in the high frequencies. And none of us had to argue about how poor the TP sounded when directly connected to the amps, be they NuForce or Flying Mole, compared to how good it sounded when connected through the Rotel pre... For fun, we also compared the Transporter to an Apertura Rosita Beta, and while both were playing in the same league, we found the Rosita to be a (very little) bit better than the Transporter. And for even more fun, we've also tested a pair of Triangle Magellan Quatuor speakers, bi-amping them with the NuForce and Flying Mole blocks (we've tested single amping them before, but the results were rather so-so for these 11 K speakers), and got the best result when using the FM blocks to drive the LF and the NF blocks to drive the HF. We all were convinced the Rotel pre was the bottleneck in all these tests, and no doubts to my ears the IA-7's pre is performing wy better. -- sebp System : Mac Mini for ripping to FLAC (XLD) SqueezeCenter 7.3 running on a ReadyNAS NV+ Living room : Transporter NuForce IA-7 v2 KEF iQ9 Bedroom : Squeezebox 3 Beresford DAC NAD C315BEE KEF iQ3 Kitchen : SB Receiver Trends Audio TA10.1 Celestion F10 Bathroom : SB Boom 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/sebp) sebp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11768 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62326 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Nu Force amp and pre amp on the way
The cool thing about the Sander amp is he offers a 30 day trial at users home, free of charge. So there is no risk to try them. For the Nuforce amps I am not aware of such an offer and here in Switzerland I don't know any dealer who have them. So I ordered a Sanders amp. Looking forward to try them... Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Nu Force amp and pre amp on the way
I have not tried to connect directly to the speakers and in hindsight probably should have held off on the pre amp unitl I tried it. I have not seen the Snaders amp before but in reading about it it sounds like a much updated version of the mid seventies GAS amps. Very high slew rate and lots of power. It looks like a quality build. I read on audiogon that the Nuforce amps were great with electrostatic speakers. Try posting a note on audiogon about the Sanders and see if you get some owners to comment and let me know what you end up with -- David C David C's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9755 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62326 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Nu Force amp and pre amp on the way
thanks for asking. The 9v2 se amps coupled with the P9 pre amp are outstanding. I did have Arcam A90 and P90 bi amped into BW CM9 speakers. The new amps blow the Arcams away hands down. The dynamic ability, significantly improved bass and most of all the layering and sound stage are the best I have ever heard. I had a GAS Ampzilla and a big MAC amp in the past but these Nuforce amps beat them hands down. Even on familar recordings (FLAC) I hear details that I have never heard before. Even my wife was shocked at how they sound. If your about to change your system I would highly recommend giving them a listen. -- David C David C's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9755 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62326 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
