Yeah I know. Feel pretty stupid - but we did have a new baby last week so may be sleep deprivation related.. :) Touch x 2, Booms x 2, SqueezeCommander on Galaxy S3 (Duet Receiver + Controllers x 2 - semi-retired) swayzak's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16575 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105764 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

You use splitters to make it possible to connect one output to several inputs ! Not connect several outputs to one input , this is not a good idea . Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] RCA splitter cable makes signal quiet ?
Thanks Seems a bit of a dim question I know, but never used one of these before. It just seemed like a neater way to combine these signals. I have an rca switch box so will use this instead. First off, you are not splitting signals, you are combining them. There is a tendency for each of the sources being combined to try to have exclusive control over the output, and thus it either shorts or partially mutes the other source. If you want to combine multiple sources, the tool of choice is a mixer. arnyk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64365 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105764 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] RCA splitter cable makes signal quiet ?
Hello I just purchased one of these to allow 2 rca outputs (TV and Squeezebox Touch) to access single input of my active subwoofer: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000LB299S/ref=pe_385721_137413791_TE_3p_dp_1 However when I use the Touch the signal is much quieter than using a single rca to rca cable. Is this normal when using an rca splitter in this manner ?
