Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Transporter switching itself on
Does the Transporter wake up about every hour? Because if I am right a Mac does briefly wake up from sleep every hour to tell the Sleep proxy server on the network that it is still present on the network. An AE or ATV4 automatically serves as Sleep proxy. Can you install LMS on a non-MacOS machine? Otherwise there might be a way to change the MacÂs behavior by disabling Âwake on demand in power management prefs. 3 SB 3 Libratone Loop, Zipp Mini iPeng (iPhone + iPad) LMS 7.9 (linux) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput, Triode's BBC iPlayer by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix, Music Walk With Me, What Was That Tune? by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson AirPlay Bridge by philippe_44 WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108721 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Transporter switching itself on
I agree with you on the Touch, it does not switch off its audio circuit when you put it in standby. The Transporter is different. It does switch off the audio circuit when you put it in standby, it just seems it switch it on (and off) every so often. I'm just wondering if there is anything to do to prevent this. drmatt wrote: > It's normal, nothing ever truly turns off, they just disable certain > circuits. It's normal, nothing ever truly turns off, they just disable certain circuits. Eg. the transporter is connected to LMS, it will stay alive to keep that connection alive and so it can receive commands. So although I don't have a transporter I know that for example the digital out from an SBT never goes down unless you yank the power cable out the back. I would imagine the Tr is the same. -Transcoded from Matt's brain by Tapatalk- -- Hardware: 3x Touch, 1x Radio, 2x Receivers, 1 HP Microserver NAS with Debian+LMS 7.9.0 Music: ~1300 CDs, as 450 GB of 16/44k FLACs. [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Transporter switching itself on
I recently bought a Transporter from eBay and really like it. I was using a Touch and decided to upgrade 1) my speakers use AES as their digital input 2) it looks cooler :-) My speakers go into standby mode when they can not detect a signal on their AES input. So when I switch the Transporter off with the remote they go to sleep. However I'v noticed they switch themselves on, even though the Transporter is off. I am sure it is something the Transporter is doing as if I pull the AES cable out of Transporter they stay asleep. I also noticed the message on the Transporter along the lines of can not connect to server popping up even though the Transporter is off. This does not appear every time the speakers wake up. I have changed the Advanced Setting to power down audio and Power Nap is not enabled. Is this behavior normal? Any suggestions? I'm running 7.9.1 on an iMac on 10.13.3 which I put into standby if I'm not listening to music. +---+ |Filename: Screen Shot 2018-02-15 at 9.57.09 AM.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24571| +---+ nicholasg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18127 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108721 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
