In Google Earth, open the app, then use that to open the file, gives

Download this tiny file which will display the glider flight in Google

Earth.

You can find the app (English pages) at:-

http://ywtw.de/igcsimen.html

When that is done, open the attached file or any of your flights using

  But
the limitation in this system is the capacity of the nappy liner.

anyone know what this absorbent might be?

  I
have looked at the crystals used in some commercial cat tray

  I
suppose that the fallback position would be to crush some of these up

with any other absorbent that will instantly turn liquids into an

Be careful of database size with Access! The older version ('95?) only
was stable to 1GB then became notoriously unreliable. M/soft proudly
announced that they'd doubled the stability size in later versions to
2GB, carefully omitting that each record was double the size of the
previous version...

Re: [Aus-soaring] Hydration - unloading

2007-02-01 Thread PTB
Put jelly crystals in the bag! Makes a firm(ish) pleasant smelling mass,
eliminates risk of spillage...

Matthew Gage wrote:

Try using a bag first, and practice a lot before flying !

Get a bigger (and thicker) bag than you think – I use large ziplock
freezer bags, but don’t zip them – twist the top after filling, and
throw downwards through the window.

First try sitting in the bath – helps with the psychological issues of
thinking you will get wet ! You could also try putting the business
part of nappy in the bag to begin with – it soaks up everything.

Once comfortable (ok, can manage without too much trouble), practice
in the cockpit on the ground so you can find a sensible seating
configuration – move the pedals, seat back (if possible), etc – again
using the nappy to begin with, just in case !

It then becomes much easier. I probably pee every 60 – 90 mins in the
air, and drink 3/4 litre per hour, sometimes more !

Re: [Aus-soaring] Why we fly

I have the dubious glory of being one of the last, if not THE last, case of polio in Australia. I was completely paralysed from the neck down for two years and told I'd never walk again.
I do - with difficulty but I don't careBECAUSE I CAN FLY!

My understanding is that medical O2 is specifically
supposed NOT to be dry

cyclinder and it easily meet the aviation std.

This is not the advice I received from BOC (they could not guarantee it
was dry) - nor my experience. As noted in a previous post, I have had
one occurrence of freezing up of the valve during a transfilling
operation, which suggests that there is some water present in medical
O2 on occasions.

G'Day,

To anyones knowledge, (both here in Australia, and overseas) has anyone ever used a Cessna 150 or TigerMoth for Towing?
As far as I'm aware, the early days of Bathurst Soaring Club (mid '60's on..) used Monty Cotton's Tiger Moth as their standard launch vehicle. Originally sharing the airport at Raglan and now at the current location at Piper's Field at Eglinton where we don't have enough strip length to do winch launches. From this you could extrapolate that it had a fairly short take off run, even fully encumbered.
;)
(These are very low power acft and available very cheaply)...
This then leads on to the question, if an aircraft is able to be fitted with a hook, how does one work out the engine power requirement? Is it a hit and miss affair? Or is there a calculation that can be done?

Sorry, can't help with that question.

I got clock and vario/thermometer from Ebay (they come from Canada). There
