[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Multiple branches under single company
Hi all, I request comments on how to handle the below scenario. The client has many branches but they belong to the same company. The solution proposed was to use one of the dimensions for branches. In this we faced the following problems. 1.Branch wise number sequences ie. continuity of document numbers for all document types. 1.Branch wise reports viz. Financial Statements like Trial Balance / Balance sheet. 3. How would we restrict access to all data/documents raised with respect to each branch with respect to Add/View/Update/Delete. I.e.. A document raised by a user of one branch should be accessed only by users of that branch whether for viewing / updating / deleting etc. Currently the dimensions are available only for capturing info and reporting purpose. How to handle these requirements in Axapta? The client would not prefer use multiple companies for each branch, since he has centralized payments and purchases. Thanks in advance. Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Digest Number 674
Hello, I have Axapta 3.0 and module Business Analysis, and MS Analysis Services installed on server (MS SBS). Once a day (usually) cubes in Axapta stop working. I don't know why. It happens during processing the cube or making new instance of the cube. AOS needs to be restarted in order to be able to work with cubes again. Does anybody know what could be the reason of this situation? It is very annoying. Maybe it is an Axapta error? Regards Radek Sharing the knowledge on Axapta. RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Multiple branches under single company
Hi We have many clients with a branch structure and we use the inventory Warehouse as the branch. We also implemented branch specific number sequences for sales orders, etc by adding number sequences on the warehouse table. To get branch financial info you'll need to also associate a dimension to a branch (i.e. selecting a warehouse must also set the branch dimension). Data restriction of the type you want is more difficult. We've had customers ask for it but have always talked them out of it; its generally better for their business as a whole if they have allow cross branch data sharing and all of our customers have seen the sense of that and have said afterwards how much it improved their business. That said, you could lock down some forms by linking specific users to a warehouse and then implementing hidden ranges on the forms that need to be restricted. There is no quick solution to this, however, its tedious amendments to each and every affected form and report. Hi, We have similar kind of requirements and we are leaning more towards using Warehouse and modifying posting by of General Ledger by warehouse(we have not made any decesion yet). Financial Dimensions also helps , but imagine if all divisons are going to use the same customer or vendor we cannot have posting based on that nor Items because Items will be shared. Implementing by warehouse will take care of master planning , forecasting. Hemant snk19692000 [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi all, I request comments on how to handle the below scenario. [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Preparing for MBS Axapta Programming Cert
Brandon, Congrats on passing your test. I have two developers on staff that I'll like to get certified in Axapta. They have about 10 years experience each, mostly in RPG and Jobscope; one is familiar with java, the other is familiar with VB; both are familiar with MSSQL. They have been programming in Axapta for several months, but are mostly self-taught. I'm thinking of sending them to a boot camp...did you attend a boot-camp? If not, can you give any tips on what I should do to help them prepare? All ideas are welcome. Thanks, Andrew -Original Message- From: Axapta-Knowledge-Village@yahoogroups.com [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Brandon George Sent: Friday, February 10, 2006 6:22 PM To: Axapta-Knowledge-Village@yahoogroups.com Subject: RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] 2nd shot exam promotion !!! Hi Sherin, I used the 2nd shot last year with Prometric. I could not register on line. I had to call them and argue that the 2nd shot applied to the MBS exams. (Had to get a supervisor on the phone) and when I went back to take it again, I had to call and argue again to get them to schedule the 2nd exam. P.S. I passed the exam on the third try. John T. Re: SV: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Serious RunBaseReport problem
Try do delete your pack method and create it again. It isweird, but sometimes helps. Also try to set version to 2 or some aother value than previous. Try deleting your usage data.
