Dear All, Does anyone can share/explained regarding link in job scheduling form. (Production Order Jobs (General Tab) Below a short explanation from AX help documents Link specifies the link that the job was created with. A link tells how the current job is tied to the subsequent job. The following options exist: Blank: There is no link to the next job. StartStart: Job must start at the same time the next job starts. EndEnd: Job must end at the same time the next job ends. EndStart: Job must end at the same time the next job starts. StartEnd: Job must start at the same time the next job ends. Note Times are precisely the same only when the link type is Hard. When the link type is Soft, there may be a time gap between the two jobs. In other words, the next job can start later than the link specifies. My Question is: How ax assigned this link? Regards,

Company 1 being Sales company will have Company 2 defined as Vendor let's say - 3051 where external code defined is IC-4062 (4062, being the customer code in Company 2) 3. In Company 2 - Customer 4062 is defined with external code as IC-4062. 4. All necessary set ups are done in END POINTS, CONFIGURATION and ACTION POLICIES. 5. On creation of Purchase order, system asks for vendor. 6. On selection of 3051 as Vendor, while pressing OK button, system throws the folloing message. Hi All, I am using Ax 4.0 SP1, .Net Framework 3.5 and WSS 3.0. I am trying to install on Enterprise Portal. I have followed the steps that is given in the white paper. Everything is fine but when i go to that particular site it is showing as blank site just the heading given. following errors are there in event viewer.. 1 Event ID : 110, Object Ref not set to and instance of an object. Source : Business Connector 4.0. 2. Event ID : 10018 : Web Session initiailization for Microsoft Dynamics failed. Object Ref not set to and instance of an object. Hello All, When I try to create new journal, system says that this number is already used. Actually it doesn't increment the number. when I drilled it down to find the cause I found that this journal number is in use How can I make it free from in USE... If you licensed HR I, you get 100 records for no additional charge. You can then buy records in blocks of 50 employees. You are only charged for active employees, not inacitive. What version and what type of journal? In Ax3.0 SP5 I found the following (excuse the cut and paste..TJL is the customer) : Problem is the number seq for produciton journals is set to continous. The solution is remove the continous property. The posible risk of turning off Continous is production journal numbering may have gaps in it but there is no expected problem with this from TJL. Cleanup can also be disabled as there is no real need if continous is not enabled. As a general recommendation where possibe continous and cleanup should always be disabled. TJL should review number sequences setup, esp journals, for possible continous settings that can be changed. Background info: Production journal number sequence had several numbers in the number seq list with status 'Free' (JRN001 to JRN004, JRN006, JRN007). This means when requesting a new number these numbers will be given by the system. The problem was whent he system was requesting a journal number and was being given JRN001. This journal had already been used and so an error was resulting during the function. Why was a journal with JRN001 existing but it existed in number seq list as 'Free'? For production journals if number seq is set as continous when the user manually creates a new journal the journal number is ALWAYS put in the number sequence list as 'Active' and 'Undecided' action. Upon user logout or session termination it will change to 'Active' and 'Freed'. Therefore once cleanup is run the 'Freed' records will become 'Free' and hence reissued when a request for number comes. Dear All., Importing Data from standard template into Ax The templates of Inventory (Table Invent sum and other tables) which are exported from Ax consist of Dimension number (Invent Dimension ID ) which is a system generated number. We cannot import the data filled in the exported template (Excel sheet) if the Dimension number is not filled since it is mandatory. How to address this problem in Ax.
