[AZORES-Genealogy] Azores to Brazil immigration

2011-12-06 Thread m_kent
Is there information on emigration from the Azores to Brazil in the
1860s era? I'm following up on a family story that some relatives from
São Miguel spent time in Rio de Janeiro. I think I saw on the listserv
that passport records from Ponta Delgada don't exist for those years,
but are there records in Brazil, like passenger lists, for immigrants
that are available online or in Brazil?

My husband and I are planning a trip to Europe  inclluding several
days in the Azores (mainly Sao Jorge) ,this spring May into June, and
we are having a difficult time planning the trip ourselves.  We need a
travel expert to help us.  We live in San Diego,  Any suggestions as
to travel agents knowledgeable in travel to the Azores  would be
greatly appreciated.  Please contact us off line.
