[AZORES-Genealogy] Gedmatch kit#
Greetings, I've been using Gedmatch the last week and have begun to really enjoy the tools available for admixture information. I have tiny bits of admixture in my Middle Eastern segments that are very intriguing..my primary European H3 admixture is also very interestingso much yet to discover and interpret in this learn as I go process. I've been using my kit# f84748 and my paternal uncle, John Baptiste, kit# f184472 to discern differences in my father and mother's DNA admixture. What I discovered were many similarities that raised questions. Then I discovered another available tool.to compare my parents. In 2009, a year before my mother died, I noticed the Silveira surname used by both of my parent's lines on Sao Jorge. My mother's used it in the de Lemos and Machado line's from Rosais/Velas and my dad's line had the Silveira Leonardes from Topo. I told my mom that my intuition told me they were connected somehow and were cousins. The Gedmatch tool showed, yes, they are cousins with a shared total segment of 9.3 and had a common ancestor 6 generations ago. My mom would have enjoyed the affirmation via the "science" tool. Now to follow the trail on paper. I have a long way to go. I wish there were better reference maps built into the site tools for clear understanding of exactly what areas geographically define what admixture name...ie: Beringian, Hazda, North Europe etc. Some of the tools have maps but one big admixture map would be helpful. It's easy to upload your FTDNA info and easy to compare with others and navigate the site tools. Now off to the chromosome colored graphs Nancy Jean -- For options, such as changing to List, Digest, Abridged, or No Mail (vacation) mode, log into your Google account and visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/Azores. Is it possible to use gedmatch if you have 172 pages of ftDNA family finder matches? It's very frustrating. I'll try again, and yes Doug, I do have that many matches. It's all on my father's side. For some reason ftDNA is top heavy with Ashkenazi Jewish people. [AZORES-Genealogy] Hopeless to read? Ginetes 1647 marriage
This is the record marriage of Andre Carvalho and Beatriz Ferreira but it looks hopeless to read. I think it is 10 Mar 1647. Thanks John, That gives me two 8th great grandfathers. Glad Canto read it before it was too late. I never would have found it if the names had not been written in the margin at a later date. Carlos Machado has Andre Carvalho Benevides and Beatriz Ferreira but his dates are off Their daughter Beatriz was baptized 31 Dec 1672. I am still looking for the birth of a son Jose Carvalho who married Lusia Martins on 6 Nov 1705 Rick Richard Francis Pimentel Epping, NH From: azores@googlegroups.com [mailto:azores@googlegroups.com] Sent: Friday, January 16, 2015 9:05 PM To: azores@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Hopeless to read? Eleanor You seem to have most of it. It is a bit of a stretch but "SOBIT" could be Sul da, with the "da" written after he had written Americano.
