Narcizo Coelho and Joaquina Roza aka Joaquina deBittencourt. Tomorrow will
check the reference for each name variation.  Narcizo parents Jose
Rodrigues Coelho and Benedicta Mariana married 1764 Altares, Terceira.
Joaquina parents Joaquim Jose deBettencourt and Laureanna Roza.

"BARCELOS FAMILY: Besides the Corte Reais there were several other families 
from the Island of Terceira 

who were interested in the exploration and colonization of Newfoundland. 
One of the most important was the 

Barcelos family which worked on colonization for three generations.

Pedro Pinheiro, descendant of one of the most noble families of Barcelos 
(Town — North of Oporto) migrated 

to Terceira in the last quarter of the 15th Century. (Because of his name 
Pinheiro (Pine) his family coat of arms 

contained a pine tree and golden pinecones.) In Terceira he was nicknamed 
Barcelos which later became part of 

his name.

Under a charter granted by King John II (1492), Pedro Pinheiro de Barcelos 
made his first voyage to 

Newfoundland with his partner, João Fernandes Labrador (who gave the name 
to Labrador). When Pedro 

Pinheiro died in 1507, his son Diogo Pinheiro de Barcelos obtained from 
King Manuel I a charter (1508)

Congress of the History of the Discoveries

Margaret!  Pedro Carvalho is also my husband's direct ancestor- Pedro Carvalho 
and Maria da Encarnacao(I was spelling Incarnacao- ops!) my husband descends 
from their daughter, Maria Ricarda.  How about you?  It is awesome to find a 
connection after all these years and with you- you have helped me TONS!!  I'm 
so happy. 

Since last week I've been working almost non-stop on finding Antonio Carvalho's 
data.  Yes, am so slow.  

Today I  found the birth and marriage records AND OBIT  for Antonio Carvalho 
and was starting to look for the marriage of his parents when you sent it!
