I believe that Agada is old spelling and Agueda is the modern spelling, but
someone with a better command of the language would know better.

[AZORES-Genealogy] Re: Are Agada and Agueda the same name?

2016-07-04 Thread Marie
My grandfather, John Antonio Borba at age 11, first settled in the San Luis
Obispo area of California in 1901; and lived there for about 10 years. He
then moved south to the desert of Brawley and El Centro, He and his
brothers finally settlied in the Chino/ Ontario, area of California in
about 1924 and remained there for the rest of their lives. We know of no
other close Borba family in California. I sure wish we did. I have
verified this with my last surviving aunt , age 92, who has a very good
memory of people and family history.

Post his birth certificate. There are many people on this list who can take
a 2nd look. You need the island and freguesia to start researching over
there. But you also need his marriage date and place, immigration date,
naturalization date too. And death. Cheri

I believe he was born in the Western Isles in1831 . He was
married in Melbourne Australia some years later. He lived on the goldfields
near Moonlight lead. Any information would be appreciatedI cannot read the
Island of his birth on the birth certificate of his children. Possibly
Fores or Corvo. Any information would be appreciated.

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Umbelina Maria de Braga m. Jose Antonio Pereira or Bernardo Antonio Pereira

2016-07-04 Thread Tim Pereira
Your information is likely correct and I had the facts all wrong. Joseph
Antone Pereira is the son of Umbelina an Bernardino; Joseph is my great
grandfather. I am trying to get more information on my family if you have
it. Sorry, I really promise I will not take a year and a half to respond
to your post.
