Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Azores passport process
I saw that Cheri, I guess I figured they changed their minds? So, I have baptisms (thanks to Shirley Allegre). I can copy paste the info.but it matches. I have them on the Bell Rock arriving HI Nov 1883. Then census records in HI and later California. Death record for Lucinda correctly lists the father as Lindinha as per Uncle Tony. Family history also claimed that one of them was a "rota baby" . And you have to admit the names are unusual. Samantha, I know you're looking for Joaquim, but I noticed that CITCEM has info on Maria Delfina in Piedade. Do you need it ? [AZORES-Genealogy] First time researching Tombo.pt records (Fontinhas of Terceira)
Hi all (the newbie is back) I'm still on the hunt for my husband's grandfather Joaquim Benedicto. I'm specifically looking for a baptism record for him from about 1874. He (hopefully, it's him) "from Fontinhas of Terceira ... and is ... the legitimate son of Benedicto Antonio native of Altares and Maria Delfina native of Nossa Senhora da Piedade of Pico." My first question is, would I be looking through tombo.pt Acores -> Terceira -> Angra do Heroismo -> Nossa Senhora do Pilar? (If there were records which doesn't seem the case here.) Thanks Samantha -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Azores Genealogy" group. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Azores passport process
This must be the wrong couple. This couple is going to Brazil, not Hawaii. What other documents do you have Kirsten that says your people are from Calhetas and Sao Jose in Ponta Delgada? Hi, this is actually an application for his passport. The document states he was a (exposto) foundling raised by you can find his birth record on line I don't have access to my desktop today. I can have another try tomorrow if no one else in the list has not assisted by then. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] FTDNA site
Paul G, Are you doing something weird, like my dad would??? LOL Just type: ftdna into the URL/address bar. Hold Ctrl and press Enter (keyboard shortcut for adding the www before and the .com at the end). [image: Inline image 1] See that up there? I just type in ftdna and do the keyboard shortcut. If I want Home Depot, I just type homedepot and do the Ctrl+Enter key. [AZORES-Genealogy] Azores passport process
Hi all, I wonder if someone an advise me about the process of leaving the Azores circa 1883. I was playing around with museu da emigração, and to my delight found a document referencing my GGGrandparents and 2 of their children just before they left for Hawaii. I got help with translation, and it appears to be more of a certification of their identity and I'm wondering if this was usual or perhaps because they were both illegitimate? The names and dates match what I had from baptism records, and so I wonder also if the adopting families (listed on baptisms) might have been related to the babies? Where and why might their last names have been chosen? Last, I wonder if there are additional documents I should be seeking? Thanks for any advice! I'll add in a link if anyone wants to see the ID doc firsthand-the couple are Marcelino Soares de Almeida and his wife Lucinda Augusta Moniz.
