Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Name Change
This is the first time I have seen this. It is possible that the priest made a mistake when writing that record and changed the father's name. Later he needed to mend this and went to Court. An example: my paternal grandmother is Emília Cândida Gaspar. On my father's birth record his mother is listed as Maria da Conceição, who actually is his paternal grandmother. If this would be an issue, we would need to mend his birth record. One of my projects is to do the genealogy of villages. I start in 1911 and go back to the earliest records of villages, grouping all individuals in families. So far I have completed the following villages: Terceira Island: Ribeirinha, Feteira, Porto Judeu, São Sebastião, Fonte do Bastardo, Cabo da Praia, Fontinhas, Agualva, Quatro Ribeiras and São Mateus. São Jorge Island: Norte Grande, Norte Pequeno, Ribeira Seca and Santo Amaro São Miguel Island: Livramento Besides finding and translation records, I have a new service: Relationship chart – For $100.00 two individuals can ask for a chart to show how they are related. If no relationship is found, no fee is charged! For more information, please contact me privately to: hero...@yahoo.com or joao_vent...@sapo.pt João M. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Professor Cunha Sao Jorge Island
There is a sister and a couple of nieces, if I am not wrong. What family did he have? I was under the impression he was an only child and had never been married. I am probably wrong. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Professor Cunha Sao Jorge Island
Marilyn, He passed away about 5 years ago. The last I heard from his research is that the family was interested in having it published. His work is about the descendants of Guilherme da Silveira / Wilhelm van der Haagen in São Jorge Island. João M. Ventura Terceira From: Marilyn Thompson To: Cheri Mello Sent: Monday, September 15, 2014 6:12 PM Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Professor Cunha Sao Jorge Island I was wondering if anyone knows if Professor Cunha is still alive. We met him in about 2001. He had a great deal of research that was type written and no descendants. Can anyone give my any information about him or his research?
