I am trying to read the handwriting in the baptism listed for 1800-1830 for Faial, Azores (bottom of left page) but am experiencing some difficulty. It is the baptism of Agostinho, son of Jose Francisco Pereira of Matriz of this villa. It mentions Jose Antonio de Fraga and Maria. It mentions Manuel Garcia Sis? and Marie Victoria. It mentions Joao Jose Andrade and Antonio Francisco da Yaria? I'm guessing these last two are godparents I would be most grateful if someone could help me here. I am interested in researching Manuel Marciano born in Terceira Island, Azores. However he and his wife and family were from Sao Jorge Island. I understand that at least one of their children was born in Faja dos Bodes, Sao Jorge Island. Does anyone have Agostinho Silveira on their family tree? I do not know his birthdate but think he was born in 1780s to 1800s. He became a Catholic Priest in Horta, Faial but left Faial possibly 1817. Agostinho died 1874. Rosa Joaquina Silveira who married Francisco Joaquina may have been a relative, and may have been a sister. I would love to know his birthdate and parents but seem blocked at a brick wall.
