Patricia-I believe we may have some common ancestry. Not sure the exact relationship but this shows on one of 60 pages I received from a member of this group. My Grandmother was born in Cedros Faial -Mary Amelia Dutra-she married John Arruda Botelho son of Jose Arruda Botelho and Ana Leite Borges Bicudo was born on 12 Jul 1882 in Sao Pedro, Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores. He died on 14 Aug 1970 in Bristol, RI. 5. Mary Amelia Dutra daughter of Francisco Pereira Dutra Escobar and Rosa Maria da Conceicao was born on 02 Aug 1891 in Santa Barbara, Cedros, Faial, Azores. She died on 06 Jun 1960 in Newport, RI. John Arruda Botelho and Mary Amelia Dutra were married etc. Elsewhere is the info below-that has some similarities to what you posted: 93. Ana Maria daughter of Antonio Silveira GOULART and Maria Dutra was born on 31 Jul 1765 in Santa Barbara, Cedros, Faial, Azores. She died on 02 Aug 1833 in Santa Barbara, Cedros, Faial, Azores. Jose Francisco Pereira da Rosa Rodrigues and Ana Maria were married on 14 Jun 1788 in Santa Barbara, Cedros, Faial, Azores.They had the following children: i. Antonio da Rosa was born in Santa Barbara, Cedros, Faial, Azores. ii. Francisco da Rosa was born in Santa Barbara, Cedros, Faial, Azores. iii. Vicente Silveira da Rosa was born on 23 Jan 1789 in Santa Barbara, Cedros, Faial, Azores. He married Francisca Luisa Escobar on 22 Nov 1813 in Santa Barbara, Cedros, Faial, Azores. -Her wedding certificate has her born August 12, 1893 Info I received from Emil on this site has it as August 2 1891 and as Mary Amelia Dutra. I know for a fact her birthday was August 12th so it is either the year 1893 or 1891. Her parents were Francisco Perreira Dutra Escobar and Rosa Maria da Conceicao. I only know that her date of birth was August 12 1893 according to her death certificate in Newport RI. Her marriage certificate in Newport RI has a date of 5/4th 1914. So she would have been 21 at time of marriage. It has her parents listed as Frank P and Rose Amelia Dutra. I know she was from Faial and I believe it was Cedros. She died June 6, 1960. What would the address be to contact for her birth certificate in Horta? I would like to learn the name of her grandparents on both sides and any other relatives from Faial if anyone has any info. [AZORES-Genealogy] New to group also
I have also recently joined this group. I have alot of info on my Grandfathers side because he was a descendent of Jose De Arruda Botelho e Camara (1852 ) and Ana Leite Borges Bicundo from Sao Miguel . What I am having difficulty researching is my Grandmothers side. She is from Faiaal-I believe Cedros born 8/12/1893 and her name was Mary Amelia Dutra. Her parents I believe were Frank P. Dutra and Rose Amelia Dutra. She married my grandfather in Newport RI 5/4th 1914. I believe the P in her parents name was for Perry. Other names that seemed to be linked are Escobar and Rosa or Da Rosa. She is also in some way related to Meredith Vieira formerly of The Today Show.
