The parents aren't "incognitos". We have all the names of the parents, in the 1600's. Sorry, I did understand wrong. We just need to do the connection to mainland. Cheri, I am in touch with my three matches and I am aware of their direct maternal lines and they know about my family tree. Two of them cannot get connect from the Azores to mainland Portugal. This is a problem. I don't know why is hard to do the connection to mainland Portugal. I think that we can find our common ancestors. I got ancestors in the 10th Century, for example. [AZORES-Genealogy] Three cousins from the Azores, but none match on the family trees
Hi guys, again! I've got a problem and I am trying to understand it: I've got 3 genetic cousins (mtFullSequence) from the Azores, but we don't have match, on the family trees. One from São Pedro, São Miguel, one from São José, São Miguel and another from Santa Maria. They have 11 genearations, on the direct maternal lines. My mother's line is in Brazil since the 16th Century or the 17th Century. Does anybody can clarify this mistery? Thanks in advance! Ok, I found the records(marriage and birth) with the parents names of Josefa Gomes de Oliveira, my great grandmother on the my mother's line. On the record of birth is written the parents names: José Gomes de Oliveira and Maria Magdalena do Rosário; On the record of marriage is written: José Gomes de Oliveira and Maria Magdalena do Rosário. One my mother's cousin asked my mother's aunt the parents names of their grandparents and she said for him that the names are José Gomes de Oliveira and Maria DA ROCHA. The baptism of my great grandmother (Josefa Gomes de Oliveira) was in April, 1886. She was born in March, 1886. Her padrinhos were Felinto Pereira Monteiro and Joaquina Maria Monteiro de Farias. Cheri, I put my most distant ancestor in my mothers line, but she is just my 3th grandmother. I could not get to find more ancestors in this line. I think that my ancestor came to Recife City, Pernambuco State or Salvador City, Bahia State from the Azores. Do you think that is possible to know who is she, even if she arrived here 300 to 500 years ago?
