[AZORES-Genealogy] Searching Dias/Dyers family Grasciosa

2011-09-27 Thread designtherapy
I've learned that my father had a completely different Portuguese
name!
Am now looking for him as: Jayme Cunha Dias, born 1890, Bario Branco,
GRASCIOSA,
also his parents: Joao Cunha Dias, b.1858, and Maria Cunha, b.1862,
same birth place,
and his children: Laurinda Dyers/Dias b.1912, Mary Dyers/Dias b.1915,
Arthur Dyers/Dias b.1917, Diulinda Dyers/Dias b.1919, all born in the
US
Appreciate any help with this.

Thank you, Rick, for pointing this out to me. I've just started this
search and I've already learned so much. I'm amazed how many people
are researching their Azorean ancestry. And here in this Azores
group, everyone is so very helpful. I really appreciate it and I know
I could have never done this myself.

[AZORES-Genealogy] Dyer or Dyers research

2011-09-25 Thread designtherapy
I have just started to search for my father's family in the Azores. I
believe his parents were John and Mary Dyer and his wife, Maria Dyer
or Dyers. I'm also searching for children Lourinda, Mary, Arthur and
Diulinda Dyer or Dyers. I think Diulinda would be about 92 years old
now if she is still living. Family dates would have started about
1870 with my grandparents. If anyone has any information about this
family, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
