Ok I did this and now I see how it works for transporting the info from one
program to another, one more question. It gave me the option to choose a
format, Ansel and one or 2 others, is one more preferred over the other?
which is the best one to choose?

do a gedcom. All I have so far is my tree on ancestry.  That will be my next
