2017-01-26 Thread Cheri Mello
The parents aren't married. So it's not the typical format.
Manuel (the baby) son of Manuel de Borba, single (I think that's a messed
up "single), and that he (the dad) is the son of Joao de Borba and of his
wife Vicencia da Assuncao, and son (the baby is the son) something of
Mariana Ignacia, single, and that she (Marianna) is the daughter of Manuel
Dias Vieira (dec'd) and of his wife Maria Antonia. I think it says that
they are waiting for the dispensation for marriage because Manuel and
Marianna are 1st cousins. Baby was born 29 Novemberand the next page is
missing. It jumps page numbers.

You might be able to hire Joao Ventura the archivist to retrieve the record
for you. I don't know how long his wait list is right now. You'd have to
contact him and ask. The rest of the records are 1778 as you noticed.

[AZORES-Genealogy] Manuel Dias or Manuel De Borba

2017-01-26 Thread Louie Avila
I sure could use some help with converting a baptism to english.

Link:

http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/TER-PV-FONTINHAS-B-1770-1803/TER-PV-FONTINHAS-B-1770-1803_item1/P57.html

Bottom right side:

Manuel son of Manuel De Borba, "his job?", and the son of Joao De Borba and
his wife Vincencia da Assuncao,
and also the son of "dont know what this word is" Marianna Ignacia, single,
daughter of Manuel Dias Vieira (deseased)
and his wife Maria Antonia.

Not sure what is written after that ... I see from the Terceira marriage
index that "Manuel and Marianna" were married in 1779.

The date at the bottom is 29 of November (with no year). The baptism listed
before and after are 1778.

Thanks in advance,
Louie
