Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Phone for a month in the Azores

2018-06-10 Thread JR
If you are going to use your current phone, my advice is to check with your
carrier before you do anything. Some phones are designed to work or be
recognized in certain areas or with certain carriers only. I bought a card
5 years ago and it did not work on Sao Miguel. You card and phone have to
be compatible with carriers in the Azores. so check first.

2018-06-10 Thread M. Stringer
Hi,

We bought something called OneSimCard a few years ago, which works in
multiple countries. At that time, you had your card, and had an account
where you could top up your funds as needed.

The call rates were better than we could get with our gsm cell providers.

I’ve bought SIM cards at the post office. Cheap and easy to do. I don’t
remember the price, but it worked fine with my iPhone. New phone number but
everything else on my phone was the same.

RE: [AZORES-Genealogy] Phone for a month in the Azores

2018-06-05 Thread Richard Francis Pimentel
Two years ago my granddaughter went to Japan as part of her high school
Japanese language class and we just called AT and paid for an international
plan for a month. Check with your carrier and see what they offer.

2018-06-04 Thread 'Bill Boyd' via Azores Genealogy
I’ve bought SIM cards at the post office. Cheap and easy to do. I don’t
remember the price, but it worked fine with my iPhone. New phone number but
everything else on my phone was the same.
