In most places in America, there are 2 types of documents for marriage. 1) Marriage license. The later ones contain more information (such as parents' names, age of bride groom, residence of bride groom, their occupation, number of marriage, etc). The earlier ones don't contain as much information. 2) Certificate of Marriage or Marriage Certificate. They have, but only available to view at a local LDS. Some contract thing. I would have to order it from them to the local LDS to view. The California County Marriage collections has about 3.7 million records and it covers about hundred years. There are 37 million people in California as of 2010. It's clear that all the records of marriages in California are not included in the collection. Hi Cheri, I am able to view other records from the California, County Marriage, 1850-1952, just not ones from that film. Interesting enough there are 2 records for the marriage date of January 31, 1899 and one for Feb 13, 1899. I contacted Marion County and they said they have a record for Feb 13, 1899. The marriage may not be until 13 February 1899. I believe the license may have been filled out 31 Jan 1899. You may want to wait about a week before buying if the need for it is not urgent. The digital copies may be in the process of being uploaded. If I get a reply to my feedback ( usually in 24-48 hours) they may tell me what is happening with the images that are not seen. If you decide to order the marriage record, ask them if you can also have a copy of the papers they filled out to obtain a marriage license. This had more info on it for one I ordered from MA than did the actual marriage certificate. I'd like to have a copy of whatever is available just to add to my collection. It would be nice to have parents names. How do I locate what church they were married in? Also if you email them good chance they will email you the copy of the record (familysearch) they did that for me when a record was not showing available.
