Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Dropbox question

2015-01-27 Thread robertjm
It is not immediately visible within your relative's dropbox folder.
Anything within your folder needs to sync up with dropbox first, and then
shows up as a shared folder within their account as as well AFTER syncing
up to their computer.

If you have lots of stuff in the folder than it will take quite some time
for this to happen; especially if you and/or they are using a wi-fi
connection to for connecting to dropbox. As an example, I have a sermon
file that upload to a shared dropbox folder at church, which is 1.45gb
roughly. When I ge t home, it takes my laptop about 30 minutes over wi-fi
to sync it to my dropbox folder. You may see a little blue whirling icon
when this is being done, or you may not see it at all until it is done.
Depends on the installation.

Best thing I can suggest is to create an empty folder and add a very small
text file to test the installation. If that pops into their folder, your
setup is fine and you should just have them give it plenty of time to sync
up. However, if that douesn't pop into their folder almost immediately,
you've got other issues and I'd recommend contacting Dropbox support for
further help.

Good luck!

Dropbox will also let you do photos and videos. I have used it for my online
college classes.

Al, they would have to have Dropbox installed as well. Once they do, you would
be able to right click on the folder containing your file and share it with
one of your contacts. That person would receive an email saying that Al want
to share a folder, accept or not.
