Have you tried Ask a Librarian on either the Santa Clara County website or the California State Library website? When I needed an obit from the San Jose paper I could not find any help in obtaining one. I went to Sunnyvale to visit a friend in a nursing home and on the way back to Sacramento, I stopped at one of their libraries and looked it up on one of their machines. Only took a few minutes. I realize this doesn't help if you are out of the area but maybe there is a listmember who goes to the library there who could help?? I can view newspaper with my San Francisco Library card online for SF, I had my son go get a SF library card since he lived there.
