Re: [backstage] RealPlayer banished Toady!

Hopefully the BBC will keep things like RM for use on internet radios
as IME they don't like flash.

But for web browsing I agree, flash is nicer than RM!

Not much of an Internet Radio if it can't play WMA streams.
Probably should take it back!

My understanding from reading comments elsewhere was that they have
problems with Flash "loaders" as they do strange things to the streams
(?dynamically changing addresses etc) rather than the more
conventional fixed wma/rm feeds.

[backstage] BBC "clock"

2008-07-24 Thread D P Ingram

Hi all.

Not strictly a backstage question, but I am sure someone will know the
answer.

I recall seeing a rather nice flash (?) rendition of an (old) BBC
clock without any BBC branding on a web site a year or so back. It was
just a plain clock. Does this ring any bells as the searches I have
found so far don't refer back to the original developer so I cannot
learn as to the availability and licensing of same and naturally one
cannot lift code!

Thanks in advance !

Re: [backstage] BBC "clock"

Thanks. The clock I really like is at http://edmullen.net/fclock.php
(bbc2.php) but I need to find the source/author/licence else, quite
reasonably, the web developer will not incorporate it (if it is
possible to do so). It is a classic clock design and one of the better
ones out there.

Any clues ?

Cheers, Darren

I followed his guidance at the top of the page where the nice clocks
were found before posting :)

"Please note: I did not create any of these Flash clocks! I found them
all on the Internet. I placed them here for information purposes only.
There's little point in writing to me about them as I have said
everything I know about them here and on the individual clock pages."

Have you tried acking the guy who made that site, there's a contact

Examples:
Material World (had archive to 2005)
