Re: [Bacula-users] Windows client backup error

2015-06-01 Thread Luc Van der Veken
I don’t think those backslashes (\) instead of normal (/) are the problem here,
those in the error messages are coming from Windows, not from the fileset or
bacula.

But [I think – never actually tried it] if you have a fileset resource that
says drives C through W are to be included, it is to be expected that you will
get an error message for each of those drives that can’t be found at backup
time.

Another likely side effect is that unless you include a ‘drivetype=fixed’
option, it will back up everything it finds at those letters, including a
CD-ROM disc that happens to be left in the drive (and another one at the same
drive letter tomorrow), a USB drive someone forgot to unplug, etc.

I prefer to have _at least_ one fileset resource for each individual client,
and even split them into two or more (plus as many separate jobs) in a few
special cases.
For general purpose machines, my filesets are often just identical copies of
the same base set (just the name changed), but this allows for easy tweaking on
a per-client basis as soon and as often as it becomes necessary.

It also allows me to keep client, job and fileset resources together in one
configuration file per client. Anything that has to be changed for a client is
always in that client’s file, no change there will ever affect another client,
and adding or removing a client is just a minute’s work without having to find
your way (again) in one long file.

An admin job, runscript directive with a console = status dir, scheduled
to start a few minutes after your backups should tell you this.

On 7.0.5 version there is a setdebug command from bconsole:

*help setdebug
  Command   Description

  setdebug  Sets debug level

Arguments:
level=nn trace=0/1 client=client-name | dir |
storage=storage-name | all

Re: [Bacula-users] Use multiple HDDs to backup files to

Hello,

Maybe you could use the virtual autochanger resource:

bacula-sd.conf:

Autochanger {
  Name = VChanger
  Changer Device = /dev/null
  Changer Command =  # versão 5.2.6. For 7.0.5 version, use /dev/null
  Device = vDrive-1, vDrive-2
}

Device {
  Name = vDrive-1
  Drive Index = 0
  Device Type = File
  Media Type = File
  Archive Device = /bacula/backup
...
}
Device {
  Name = vDrive-2
  Drive Index = 1
  Device Type = File
  Media Type = File
  Archive Device = /sdb1/bacula/backup # is this your mount point?
...
}

In your bacula-dir.conf (or wherever you have your storage definiton for
director):

Storage {

 Do I have to change something else so that bacula is able to write more

 hdd.

 Thank you very much :-)

[Bacula-users] Unable to position to end of data on device

2015-06-01 Thread badangel
I know that the post is old, but after some head banging I found the clue ...
I had the same problem with two LTO4 tapes (I own an Overland Arcvault 24 with
a server running ubuntu 14). The server crashed before bacula be able to end
the tape writing for these two tapes.
I found the clue reading how LTO drive detects / stores the end-of-data mark.
Some tells that two consecutive end of files (EOF) is used to the this is the
end of data, others claims that when the write is finished the eod is
automatically written ... So ...
- First list the volume in bacula (list volumes) and find how many files are
recorder for your tape: in my case: 118 files on the tape in slot 6
- close bacula (bacula-dir stop, bacula-sd stop)
- use mtx to load the tape (if you own a tape changer, else load it manually):
mtx -f /dev/tape/by-id/yourchangerdevice
- rewind tape if needed (mt -f /dev/tape/by-id/yourtapedevice-nst)
- next fast forward to the n-1 file (in my case, I must skip 117 files to
position the drive on the 118th file): mt -f /dev/tape/by-id/yourtapedevice-nst
fsf 117
- write two eof on the tape: type twice: mt -f
/dev/tape/by-id/yourtapedevice-nst eof
- rewind tape, and unload it
- restart bacula sd then dir
- update volume from error to append
- enjoy using your tape again !!!
Note: bacula may complain that file number mismatch, and will automatically
corrects :
  22-mai 22:45 david-sd JobId 3992 : Attention : For Volume JC0006L4:
  The number of files mismatch! Volume=119 Catalog=118
  Correcting Catalog

[Bacula-users] problem with the installation of bacula-7.0.5 on debian 7.7.

2015-06-01 Thread florek
ello everyone,
I installed bacula 7.0.5 on debian - 7.7.0 but the problem is that when I run
the bconsole , I get:
Connecting to Director debian : 9101 and nothing thereafter.
With the researches I 've done so far, when I do:
ps aux | grep bacula , I get this:
root 2269 0.0 0.1 20392 908 ? Ssl 10:04 0:00 /opt/bacula/bin/bacula -fd -c
/opt/bacula/bin/bacula-fd.conf

/opt/bacula/bin/bacula-sd.conf
root 5439 0.0 0.1 3572 836 pts/2 + S 12:03 0:00 grep bacula
Obviously the daemon bacula-dir is not running even after typing ./bacula
restart or /etc/init.d/bacula-dir restart .
Also I do not find also bacula's log file even using the command find. How can
I process to resolv this problem?

Please can someone help me? All aid would be an great importance for me.
Thank you i[/i]

Hello,

You can find more information on your /var/log/messages (about the daemons
startup) and the log files generated by bacula are defined on the messages
resources (bacula-dir.conf), append directive:

Messages {
  Name = Standard
...
append = /pathtobaculaworkingdir/working/log = all, !skipped
}

Best regards,
Ana

Re: [Bacula-users] version error for database bacula. wanted 14 got 0

2015-06-01 Thread Ana Emília M . Arruda
Hello,

This is because the Bacula´s database version used in some 5.X versions is
12. Since some 5.X versions to 7.0.5, the database version is 14. You just
need to run update_mysql_tables script in your Bacula´s bin directory.
Please, stop bacula daemons first.

Best regards,
Ana

Re: [Bacula-users] Baculum not working on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS running Bacula 7.0.5

2015-06-01 Thread Mike Boyce
Marcin,

Thank you for looking at the issue I was having and offering to help. I
was missing the .htaccess in /var/www/baculum. It was actually in the
directory where I originally unpacked it, but I guess when I copied it over
it didn't copy.

I appreciate your telling me about the binary package available on
Launchpad.net. I may look at doing it that way at a later time. I like to
do stuff the hard way first, I guess. I like to understand how it all
works.

Alex, thank you as well for answering my post. Didn't run the command
since the only issue I had was missing the .htaccess file. That was the
first thing I checked and that corrected it. Also, to answer your other
question I just made a copy of the default 000-default.conf file in
sites-available and modified it appropriately since I have no other pages
being served on this server I have no other vhosts at this time and thus no
other vhosts files or entries.

Thanks again to both of you!

Mike

 Hello,

 Your web server configuration looks well.

 Could you tell me if you placed hidden file .htaccess from tar.gz
 archive to location:

 /var/www/baculum/

 The hidden file consists mod_rewrite rules and I guess that during
 copying from tar.gz archive the hidden file has not been copied.

 If you are interested in Baculum binary package for your Ubuntu 14.04,
 here is unofficial PPA project on Launchpad.net:

 https://launchpad.net/~ganiuszka/+archive/ubuntu/baculum

 The binary packages contain almost latest Baculum snapshot from Bacula
 Git archive.

 From 7.0.5 version to current Git version there are a lot of new
 functionalities in Baculum.

  I'm currently testing Bacula 7.0.5 before deploying it into a production

  The problem I have is that when I set up Baculum according to the

  I set the document root to the directory that I have baculum in:
